I was looking at some dry van listings online amid this huge nationwide shortage of wagons, when I stumbled upon a not so known name ATRO,
ATRO Estes 20 brand new 2021 units available NOW!! says the listing, from a dealer in Denver CO, 28k$ for the shiny new wagon,
a quick googling of Atro Estes revealed another dealer out of Houston TX that has them in inventory and available for sale right away, and further revealed that ATRO Remolque y carroceria is mexian semi trailer manufacturer.
vans are extremely overpriced now and dealers who have used ones don't want to sell them, only lease purchase at ridiculous amounts, a Utility dealer wants 60 months at 597$/month for a 2019, a no name dealer wanted 4k down, 600$/month 42 months for a beat up 2013 spring ride.
But something popped up on facebook marketplace today, a listing from a small family fleet selling 20 units 2019 Wabash duraplate with side skirts and tire inflation for 28k$, I'll go take a look at them tomorrow and see if we can work out something.

Friend of mine constantly scans "farm auctions" on the internet and in some magazine he gets.
He bought a 53' dry van for under $2000.00
The farmer/rancher had the trailer parked beside his barn and had been using it for storage.
He put newer used tires on it and cleaned the inside and cleaned the mildew off the outside.
The trailer looked excellent. He had it DOT inspected and it passed.
He uses it for OTR trucking.Blue jeans, Jarhed1964, Cattleman84 and 8 others Thank this. -
Some brokers will care but not enough to slow him down if he's just running basic van freight. I think I may've been asked 2-3 times this past year what year my trailer was.
bzinger and Brettj3876 Thank this. -
I can only remember being asked 1 time what year our wagons were. Needed the full 101 inside width for empty beer cans. More or less they just wanted to know it was a plate van

Sadly not many vans in auctions these days.
Used ones are overpriced, I just looked at two 2017s listed for 28k and all I can say is they have seen better days.
Btw no one above paid attention to what I said about those mexican made brand new trailers, would you buy them for 28k$ ? I'm worried about how they would hold up and also parts. That and they're also very basic, steel wheels, no skirts, and no tire inflation.Last edited: Mar 11, 2021

Latest market analysis says inventories are at historic lows, the post-covid freight boom is just beginning, and this spring and summer are going to be absolutely ridiculous for van and reefer. DAT predicts van rates will be higher than flatbed rates by the end of this month.
shatteredsquare and bzinger Thank this. -

Nexa is a tank trailer builder out of Mexico. They look pretty nice.
There was a custom Flatbed builder from Mexico that was being used in South Texas years ago. I think name was Hernandez or Martinez? They looked overkill heavy duty.
