Hey neighbor... that light staying on?... it MIGHT be more than a tire leaking... what happens is sometimes the system will fail by the oil-bath section becoming pressurized thereby pushing your hub oil past the seals and as your going down the road you hear air moving through your valve on the dash.. next thing you know the light comes on but by that time the bearings are shot and its time to spend nearly $2k or more on a spindle job. Meritor has addressed this issue by offering the thermal guard element to their system. DON'T INSTALL THIS SYSTEM WITHOUT THIS!!! So what I'm telling you is that your system may be leaking into the hub and passing the seal... check for wet hubs!!

you probably have a leaking air line fitting in the system or the airflow sensor its self

I know I am not a seasoned driver, but if I may... What would be easier for you to have someone repair/maintain the system later on? The local shop or the shop 400 miles away? Either way, if I owned a truck I would get some type of warranty on the system, and as long the local shop will uphold that contract, why go out of the way if you don't have to? Now if that shop 400 miles away is on your weekly route or something of that nature, I guess it wouldn't matter too much. But if not, would trips that far be cost effective, if needed to have something done?

I have installed the meritor psi system on several trailers and I also run it on my own. I have the pressure set at 115 for the super singles I run and never worry about tire pressure. If there is an air leak at one of the stators, the air will escape through several small vent holes built into the hub caps. Some newer axles are already prepped for this system, so installation is only a couple of hours.

How much does it cost to install?

took mine to Great Dane today to have it changed over to multilube instead of oil-bath... this will prevent smoked spindles in the future... sittin-out the 72hr.. I also brought to the attention of the shop manager that one out of 4 positions consistently ran 20 degrees cooler than the other 3... that is a marked difference for sure. He found this intriguing himself and as we talked I expressed to him that I would like to know WHY this is the case?... 34K on the rear.. the others 149 degrees.. the one 128 to 130... I'll post the findings later..

Something is causing more heat on the other three? The cooler one is the one not having a issue.

That would seem obvious... but it is not that simple as two of the three are new spindles.. races and bearings... so I'm thinking it is either the lube that was added when the seal was replaced (same time the spindle was replaced on the other end of the axle) or the tension on the bearings by spindle nut...
