I am a new driver and i went on this highway for the first time yesterday. Luckily there wasn't much traffic at the time but what confuses me is the yield sign and this short acceleration lane meeting the exit lane. I am entering from Flatbush ave. onto the roundabout ramp and by the end of this ramp, there is the yield sign. If there is not enough room for me to merge, should i stop here? Also, when accelerating on this lane wouldn't it be very dangerous if someone wants to get off on the exit right ahead in this same lane?! Given such a short acceleration lane, wouldn't it be hard to merge left ASAP to avoid those that are ahead of me going right, towards the exit?
Please enlighten me on this and forgive me if i am confused or have made any mistakes.

When you are coming around the ramp look at the traffic coming and put your blinker on early. Continue accelerating. They will make a space for you. Never stop in a lane of travel.

Don't keep making multiple threads with the same ?
Just clutters it up and makes more work for the people that run this place

You technically have until the lane is done to complete the merge but keep watch as you are entering as you may be able to slip in early. You only ever stop if you have absolutely no way of entering without causing an accident as highway traffic has right of way -
There are more than a few of these terrible interchanges. All you can do is recognize them for what they are and prepare for the worst and pray for the best.

If you think that's short. You're in for surprise when you meet other merges.

Try Pennsylvania when they set up those road construction with no ramp and a stop sign at the end. Then you merge onto say i476. Yeah, good luck with that.

Also, I am most concerned about the exit ramp ahead that shares the same lane as the on ramp. What should i do if there is someone next to me or ahead (already on the highway to the left) that wants to go into my lane to exit?
They would be slowing down to exit while ahead of me in my acceleration lane?
