Axor dump truck is a rare bird here. But in Turkey!!! Ouh!! usually 8X8 ore 8X6.

I used to drive Actros 2552 8x8! It is a monster of 20' dump trucks

what to add Axor 1828- it is rebranded Atego with small OM906 engine. Not a breadbox, but...
1833 - it is derate virsion of OM457, may easily be reprogrammed to 440 HP, but for dump trucks 330 hp engine life is longer and I do not program them more then 1850 NM

yes there are a lot of axor for 33+ ton versions but only outside europe
    especially in Brazil
for example axor in europe is synonym for light truck for roads ......only up to 32ton ( on 4axle) and 26 on 3 axle with disc brakes all round ( yes on construction truck) but outside eu axor is very robust truck with leaf suspension drum brakes.....

before few years i and my father were in Truck Score( they are official dealer of used Mercedes Benz trucks) and there was about 20trucks all axor 3340 3343 4140 4143 in
different wheel combination 6x6 6x4 8x4 8x6 8x8 and thare was messages on windshield NO FOR EUROPEAN UNION AND CROATIA ( they were rigid without body) and i have seen at least two of them working here ( they do not meet our requirements for safety and ecology)

    are you sure that is 2552 ?????????????? 25 is only 6x2, 6x4 are 26/33/38/40 4axle are 32/41/50 and 52? do you mean 51 /53?

i usually dont like trucks with more than two rear drive axle i really dont like front wheel drive it is too expensive to maintain, uncomfortable, too high

is that engine origin from Unimog?

and i just ask myself often why mercedes did not offer om457LA as more than 428hp here for example there is some bus version ( not hLA ) as 456 or 476 i know that is a lot of more stress on truck engine but i think that this engine can be a little bit stronger.......

if you need something like this it would be great to have front wheel drive because crane is on front and empty truck is too light on rear axle and NO TRACTION. Although I am against FWD in this case it would recommended......especially axor ( too fast transmission in 1st Low gear ....if you are in united states it would be better for you to stay away from euro truck you will have too many complications....for example this truck even empty weighs more than 12000lbs on front axle and there are maybe some local laws that will allow you to have more but you still would be in trouble with service parts.....

but maybe older EU truck would be nice (
which has no electronics and if you're already familiar with them- repairs and be able to maintain them alone....)

and on that axor crane is too small it is only 9mt you need at least 10.5-12mt

that meiller typ9 is just fine probably best in EU industry but if you buy truck with that body make sure that it will have rear column´s it is a lot better than without them and if you would buy 4x2 make sure that is truck enough high ....from my experience during unloading big concrete pieces from demolition you must open rear side-board above to protect rear lights and my rear board often be buried in ground .....and it is danger to tipp on un-paven recycling yard ( you can break that rear board so you must move truck during unloading with outstretched crane ( you cant fold it with gripper) so you have a high center of gravity ( my gripper alone weight about 1100lbs) and have it at 8m makes truck really unstable especially when your moving over rough terrain and if some of cargo caught somewhere in the tipper

and also make sure that you have pallet-wide inside tipper box ( 2.42m -95inch)

yes it is cheaper but keep on mind that most axor are rated for 36ton gross also man tgm ( only 12speed astronic ) are 40t

what kind of bodywork you want?

first go to mercedes benz dealer and take a ride i think you would not be to happy it is rought unconfortable litle bit noisy and some vibrations also interior look cheap
