I did renew my medical certificate today and passed everything with flying colors except I had some protein in urine ( doctor mentioned dehydration as one of causes , which probably is due to being very active at gym every day ) , doctor never mentioned any issue , when I came back home I noticed my medical card issued only for 1 year instead of 2 as usual , I called back office and questioned them ...no reasonable answer ( maybe medical conditions etc ...later said probably because of protein ) ...last medical card was received from same chain located couple miles away . is that new form of money grab or I should see the doctor?!

Depends on how bad it was. But honestly no. Sounds like they made a mistake and are giving you the runaround or trying to get you in for more cash and to avoid admiting it.

If you had a cpap sure. But just protein? Ive had that issue since i was a teen no matter what i do and my doc just shrugs at this point.

It’s because you have protein in your urine.

Take it seriously because it can disqualify you from driving.

If you never have any issues before you will want to keep an eye on it. Could be the beginning of kidney disease..

See your primary doctor about it and don’t blow it off.

@pavrom you should order something like this test online, so you can check for yourself at home and then figure out what to do next depending on results.

If you are following the Atkins Diet, or one reducing carbs it throws extra protein in your urine. It should not affect your certification no matter what the level.

don't do any diet at all ...just trying to avoid bad (junk) food ...hoping it's because of sport activity and dehydration ( i definitely don't consume enough...who knows ) .

    cke Thanks this.
