So I got scammed and thought this company submitted my Biennial update Mcs150 but they actually did not send it in. I also emailed them and sent it in January but it was never actually updated in FMCSA system and as of today my authority was deemed “Inactive”
First question is, when I get this updated how long will it take to become reactivated so I can be on the road?
Second questions is, will I be charged anything crazy like it says online “$1,000 per day in fines” for this simple mistake? Or is it only the $80 reinstatement fee
Third question is, when I am reactivated will it look like I am a brand new authority even though it has only been one day of inactivity…? Also FMCSA said it is only a “Soft Inactivity” right now and I was not sure what that meant compared to hard inactivity.
Fourth question is, is there any way I could get this completely taken off my history if I prove to them I was scammed and potentially they missed my emails with the updated MCS-150?
Thanks in advance fellow truckers!

Why not ask the FMCSA for an official answer instead of relying on random strangers? Isn't that how you got in this mess in the first place?
Their chat option is very convenient and fast. It can be found directly on their website.Ruthless Thanks this. -
Search bar….their is a very informative recent thread on this subject

It’s so easy and takes about ten minutes if you take your time. Log into your account and submit it!
Curious how much money you tossed out the window for such an easy task..what other simple things are you throwing money away for?86scotty and Opendeckin Thank this. -

I went in to the new system and went through the process of selecting my role, and received a message that I would be notified via email when my role was approved. I thought that was odd but sort of forgot about it. Last month I began trying again with error messages an the pending approval box stuck in a permanent state of buffering.
I did finally call and waited for 3 hours on hold before giving up. I then called our state licensing department and they gave me the number of our local FMCSA representative. She picked up immediately and sent me a new mcs150 form to fill out, which I returned to her. She then completed my update and all is well other than the websited still wasn't working for me. I did go in to see that my status has been updated in safer.
All this is to say that something that used to take just a few minutes in years past took me hours and hours to deal with this year. -
I would recommend that you join ooida.
The only charge like $40 a year or less for a membership.
If you ever need any regulatory things done, like get your Authority or anything else, they can help you.
If you are a member, you can call them and ask them how to file anything like this type of a problem, and if you needed them to handle it they do it every single solitary day and they are experts at it.
I have called there many times and asked them things of this nature, and they would tell me if they filed it it would cost this much, but if you want to file it yourself here's how you do it.
They have been just a great resource, and if you know how to navigate through their system you can get discounts on tires and different things.
They also have a compliance department which if you have compliance questions they will answer them and they also can take care of compliance for you if you need that.
They also have tons of education and materials and they really can help you run your business better, in my opinion.
It's a very small amount of money to lay out for the benefits that you get.
