They're hiring, so does anyone know anything about this region?
Been pulling my hair out trying to find info online about them.
Since they're so big (and owned by the even bigger McLaine) opinions seem to vary.
From "miserable" in TX to "not bad" in Colorado.
I really hate hauling food (lumpers) but there's a pretty big incentive package on the table for Lancaster.
I gotta at least consider them.
MBM Lancaster PA?

It's back breaking work with looooong hours and you're often outside breaking down the product. There's a reason all food service pay really well but have a really high turnover

I work for MBM (Denver).
The good:
it pays REALLY WELL
they pay for everything (scales, tolls, breakdown, backhaul waits, etc)
the bad
you earn every cent of it
the equipment is TERRIBLE. (I mean really really really bad)
Every terminal is different, I talk to other drivers from other terminals and it's the same BS. other terminals are like a different company. Don't know anything about PA.
MBM delivers to chain restaurants, so no mom and pops and usually (but not always) a reasonable parking lot. (for cars, not really designed for 48's but you knew that going in). It's pallatized (mostly) and some chains you just bring them the pallet and they break it down.
Most drivers at this terminal are in their 40's. It's not THAT hard.Pharroh336 Thanks this. -
I worked for sysco, you touch every single case, they have the best health insurance ever because you will get surgery there sometime in your career

Cracked open the newspaper today, they're STILL looking, and I'm STILL not going.

I work for mbm, and I ran Lancaster for a couple weeks. (Visiting rep) it is super easy with the pallet jack and lift gates. Most of the stops are key stops... coming from kentucky dc. Where everything is ramp and dolly, it was a break.
If you make it a year, and get your own route, you will probably love it. But that first year will grind your gearsPharroh336 Thanks this. -
Acme in Denver, PA is looking for like 30-40 drivers. Bunch of new stores they are getting from the a&u bankruptcy. Bump the dock and let the store unload. It's a pretty good gig there. Check it out. It beats having to fingerprint

What can a guy expect to top out at in a year? Do they give yearly pay increases? Coming from LTL P/D it might be nice to not have 12 pickups added to your day while you're trying to get rid of 17 deliveries still.

You will make 65k atleast in the first year. It's not a lie. I made almost 80... depends on how much you wanna run... the first year sucks. It's a whole new beast... it's physically demanding, and there are days you will cuss everyone, and everything. If you make your first year, and get your own routes it becomes a lot easier. I'm out 2 nights a week. And I'm right at making 75 this year, with out working much more than that.
Pharroh336 Thanks this.
