This is not a good or bad report. I start training with this company on Jan. 3rd and just wanted to know if anyone has a good or bad opinion on Maverick?

If you like doing flatbed hauling, Maverick is one of the better companies out there to go with. They are paying a bit more than comparable carriers, and they have good equipment. They have a better than average safety record, and when I get a chance to talk to their drivers, most of them are content working there.

They are currently offering a $500 sign on bonus and they are paying $550.00 for orientation, which is above average too.

Thanks. I've not heard anything negative about them. Sorry I put this in the wrong folder.

Don't give it a second thought. I just try to group things together, so that people can kinda seek what they try to find. I'm as bad as anyone else for straying off-topic at times.

Anyone out there been thru their training? How was it? Also any Maverick drivers out there? How do you like it? Do they treat you well?

    Any insight greatly appreciated.

I can only testify to conversations that I have had with their drivers, and just about all of them are well pleased with the company. I rarely heard a gripe from a driver I spoke with, and I've spoken with a bunch of them over the years.

Yeah...they are always hiring and advertising, so they are experiencing turnover, but you just don't hear bad things about Maverick. Apparently, the man that owns the company is very involved in seeing that the drivers are treated well, and this sentiment was expressed to me over and over.

Sorry, I moved your thread here, it seems more apropiate.

To begin with I have not heard any good coming out of a lease purchase program, it usualy turns out in favor of the owner and not the leasee.

Just out of curiousity, what is the balloon payment at the end of the lease?

Unless something has changed that I am not aware of, Maverick doesn't offer a lease/purchase program. They are strictly a company truck operation.
