I was looking for the information and noticed that a lot of others were too, and often the answers fell short. So I'm going to include a link to a page that has it graphed out, there are probably exceptions but it's a good start. So if you want to know the basic dimensions of a mattress according to make/model here you go.

most trucks have a twin xl mattress

Yep, most of them have twin XL mattress size. I got a memory foam one from Amazon. Good price, too.

My current dilemma is that nobody with any reputation is making custom sizes for memory foam mattresses. I was hoping to get a Casper mattress in 42x80, but they don't do custom sizes. Anybody think they could make a good profit selling $650 mattresses for truckers? It's an enormous market that's saturated by crap.

i think most trucks even if the original mattress was a bit different size a twin xl will still fit.

i think my truck probably originally had a custom size mattress that was slightly longer but slightly narrower than a twin xl. iv got a twin xl mattress in it but its really tight against the cabinet but its about 4 inches shorter than the space available if that makes any sense.

its fine only down side is you kinda got to tilt the mattress up to get the front side of a fitted sheet up over the mattress. the plus side is when i make the bed in the morning i shove the edges of the comforter in there too and its so tight dosent matter how rough the road is my bedding stays put. and as for the matress being a little too short, just gives a little area you can store things at the foot of the bed. normally slip my laptop case in there and have some dvds and crap there too.
