    Greetings fellow truckers,

Does anyone have any information regarding this company? I am thinking about applying there and I have on and off three years of experience. Any information would help.

Matheson is your typical postal mail contractor hauling loads for USPS. No different from any of the other HCR mail contractors out there...like Eagle, MCA/Pat Salmon, B&B, MTI, Postal Transport, Hoovestol, etc. They have local and OTR runs. They get paid somewhere around $20-25 an hour + $5 an hour for H&W. You can op out of the H&W if you're spose has benefits, which wound bring you up to around $25-30 an hour...but no OT though...all straight time. Some places pay up to $32 an hour. Benefits are good...but expensive...I think it's around $200 a week. Easy work...unloading mail carts on wheels if you're local...or dedicated routes, meet and greet, turn and burn if you're OTR. 4 days on...3 days off. Only downside...besides being paid straight time...is inward and outward facing cameras.

Are the three days off consecutive ?
Any idea what speed the trucks are governed at?
Do they have sleepers even though you only spend two nights a week out or do they put you up in a hotel?
    Is there slip seating?
    Thanks for any info

Depends on routes. Could be a dedicated run...meet and greet...layover, etc.
Around my area, they're governed around 70mph. Could be more towards the west.
    Yes they do have sleepers....

They also have daycabs for local runs and CNG/LNG tractors too......

Don't know...but most of the HCR contractor's I've talked to have assigned trucks.

I've also heard that some of their barns are union too. Teamsters. Don't know how that works...since Postal Mail Contractor's (HCR) performing federal contracts are under the DOL SCA (Service Contract Act) and prevailing wage is determined by locality...not by the union. Federal unions on the other hand is a different story...since they bargain for federal employee's with the government.

And oh...did I mention they have inward and out ward facing cameras?

Wow , thanks for the very well organized post that answered all my questions Sho Nuff!
I love the idea of three days off but the gig I am looking at seems to be night driving which makes sense because the mail is gathered all day then whisked off to a terminal.
Seems like you would get caught in a cycle of changing your sleep patterns all the time to have a normal life and take advantage of the time off. Very bad for your health and seems to make me a cranky pants.

They changed the operation if the cameras without telling the employees. Major class action law suit coming.
