I don’t know anything about US Foods. But I do know a couple of guys that drive for MB out of Baton Rouge. The only way they’ll leave, is in a body bag.
That really doesn’t tell you anything. Because I know guys that think the same of Werner :/ -

They have 70 drivers just at the Baton Rouge location. That’s what worrome about being at the bottom of the barrel. Not enough hours. I need to take home 1200 ew or I’m #%%ked

With US Foods everything depends on the location. My supervisor doesn’t bother me because I put my head down and do my job. Even if I run behind schedule I don’t hear anything about it (and if I get really far behind, they’ll send another driver out to help without me even needing to ask). The pay here is $26/hr, OT after 10 hours and on your 5th day. Some locations have different hourly rates and some are on component pay.
I’d say the main benefit to USF is the 4-day week and weekends off (not guaranteed but very likely). You may have to work a 5th day if your location is understaffed, but it’s all OT. And there are only a handful of Saturday routes.
That being said, the McDonalds carrier in my area uses liftgates and electric pallet jacks to bring the pallets right to the door, then breaks it down and wheels it in from there. It seems to be much easier and I’d go that route if the pay and schedule is similar. -

Martin Brower around my area pays around $23-24 an hour. OT after 8. Union gig with pension and excellent benefits. Long hours though and you'll start off on call extra board...so you'll be going to different places a lot...working day or night shift and weekends too. Runs are based on bid routes for senior drivers. Trucks have inward and outward facing cameras. Deliveries are fairly easy for foodservice. They use lift gates pushing racks or pallets. Some use conveyer belts too. $80-90k is obtainable... depending on bid routes.....
speedyk, Radman and localguy65 Thank this.
