What would be the expected psi? I'm only getting 15-17psi and it seems weak. It used to go up to 20 but that seemed weak as well. Someone said I have a leak on the turbo (single turbo), would that be the cause?

Sounds like a boost leak somewhere. My E model would do about 30 psi with the stock turbo, the Borg I'm running now will do somewhere around 40.

    okiedokie Thanks this.

Im not too familiar anymore with boost. I have to reach way back to get cobwebs out of the way, I like to be at 25 give or take. Maybe 30 if shes all out. About all I get anyway.

You probably have some of it escaping somewhere. "Fly" a strip of paper around your machine until you find Mr Flap. That would be where your leak is at if any.

That boost number is low, it should do at least 26, but could be a leak or not getting enough fuel, tired turbo, etc.
Pinch off the waste gate and see what she does, Check the air to air too. On second thought I would look at the turbo fins before I pinched off the waste gate, something may have gone through it and chipped some fins.
Have you looked to see if you have any exhaust leaks before the turbo?
I may be wrong, but I want to say the fuel temp sensor can lower the boost too.
    What is your pyro doing?

I'll have to look tomorrow at the pyro.
@x1Heavy you telling me to go fly a kite? Just kidding, I'll see if I can detect any leaks as well tomorrow.

Whats your egt and fuel pressure at? What hp and engine serial prefix? Itll be engraved on a dataplate at back driver side of valvecover near firewall.

Spray your piping with soapy water at the joint and have someone rev it up a bit, check for bubbles. Look for heavy soot around exhaust manifold, see that your turbo center section bolts are tight and see if the O rings in the discharge elbow have flattened out... Youll feel the elbow is real loose. They wear grooves in the compressor outlet ID and leak. Your cooler could have leaks but its a chore to test. You take it and the piping off then build caps and pressurize it as a unit.

Change fuel filters, blow out or change air cleaners and wire off your wastegate with a coathanger, also pinch the actuator reference line. This is about all shes gonna make with easy stuff. I see 30 to 32psi at most on a 550hp 2WS that isnt very impressive in the mountains. Maybe seen it hit 900 egt post turbo once or twice lugging too long
