80,000 people converge on Manchester,Tn for 4 days of entertainment. All kinds of bands play there. Really a big deal for such a small town. I-24 in the Manchester area gets congested at times. I've never seen so many rv's in one place.

It works out good for the people who live around it. They get free tickets to the event. Some locals set up stands inside the festival and make money selling different items. I don't know if they still do it, but MTV used to do updates and live remotes from Bonnaroo every year.
I drove by there today and noticed how many smokies were sitting on I-24, even at the exit on the westbound side of Monteagle mtn.

I went through there 3 weeks ago. The last time I had been through there was July 2009.

It started a few years ago as a Tennessee Woodstock kinda thing. Naked, unwashed, stoned, muddy hippie wannabes, what's left of Dead Heads, Phish followers, you get the picture. It's gotten a lot more organized and more law enforcement which has enabled the event to continue as a profitable venture for the local economy. Every year you can count on at least one death and possibly a birth there. It's always hot as Hades and runs the week after the Fan Fare week in downtown Nashville.

I wanna go and hang at least once since it's only an hour away just to experience it.

Good work for the guys with reefers who run ice shuttles from Nashville to the event. Local and no logbook needed! Run all day and night, drop and swap.

A guy that lives in Manchester has the contract to supply the ice used at bonnaroo. I helped haul it the last two years out of Nashville & Athens al.,like you said day& night.Things changed this year though, they are bringing the ice into McMinnville here to the local ice house & then carrying it to Manchester & spotting trailers. I was the low man on the totem pole so I got shut out this year but I got by before bonnaroo & will get by without it again.

Screw this trucker. How the hell are you gonna slam into other traffic like that. If he couldn't see cuz it was dark or whatever he shoulda slowed down. You have to always be able to stop in the distance that you can see in front of you. Common freakin sense. Hopefully he'll never be able to get behind the wheel of a big truck again.

I was through there wed night. They exited us off the big road and up to 41. Took me 4.5 hours to go 47 miles. I knew something bad must've happened but did'nt want to listen to all the experts on the cb. Came back westbound friday afternoon and I've never seen so many revenue rangers in my life. Fortunately they were picking on four wheelers.
