Anyone have any experience and or recommendations for management software?

I was reading up on Trucklogic which seemed ok as they integrate with Quickbooks and have a lot of reports etc.

    Any help is much appreciated

I think this was the one we just looked into it, it fell just short for our needs when tested.

their pricing is off, considering a large fleet as 15 or more trucks.

It seems to be good for those with a few trucks, but a single truck … I don’t see it needed.

I run 7 trucks with no fleet management software. If you’re accounting is set up properly you should have access to anything you need right there. Quickbooks is a bit of a question mark, unless that’s what your accountant uses, and that would raise other questions for me. If your books are set up properly for a trucking company the only thing you have to do is have internal paperwork systems in place so data entry is current. All the information in the world won’t help you if it’s out of date. Operations and maintenance on manual systems are easy when you’re only talking a few trucks. The only problem I’ve ever had is lately, I’ve been doing more LTL than usual and the volume of data entry is getting ahead of me. That’s backing billing up a bit just now, but I can probably find a solution to that without any more computers. An accountant that knows the nuts and bolts of the industry is way more important than an office full of computers. Talk to your accountant, the software they use can probably be customized to suit your needs for most of what you’d want fleet management software for anyway. Just don’t be surprised if it isn’t Quickbooks.
