I have a load out of Odessa and I need 4 V-Boards. I called the shipper and they was 4 sets of 2x4's, so i am making them up today and was just wondering how far apart you all space them from each other before you secure the strap material to make the V-Board? I was thinking about 6" would be good???
As for distance I mean the 2x4 on top, and 2x4 on the bottom.... how far to gap/space them so the one on top lays on top of the barrel and the other hangs over the side.

no more than about 4-6" when we made them.
ETA....
We'd make them out of 1X4 or 2X4. We'd put three boards down, nail the strap to the outer two boards.

SHC, The Challenger and MJ1657 Thank this. -
mine are 1 x 4 with 6" of 4" strap on them easy to make i have only used mine about 3 times and only one load required them i carry 10 on my truck, handy trick throw your straps first than feed them threw if not they will just keep sliding off after the first one hit me in the head i figured it out LOL....

The the 2 x 4 and lay it on the piece of strapping then roll it over 3 but not more than 4 times and thats about right.
-
the only problem with 1X4s is some people (meee) tend to snap them into pieces too often.. if I knew my v-boards were staying with my truck all the time I would make them out of 2X4s
-
I made them with 2x4's and spaced them about 5" apart. Should work just fine...
Thanks for all the input guysMJ1657 Thanks this. -
Your buddies at Tarpstop sell nice, pretty plastic ones, every day!
