I work for Magnum
Call Kalya or Emily in recruiting for the most up to date info.... but I was in orientation in July, trained in August and went solo beginning of Sept.
$200 3 1/2 day orientation
$75 a day, every day, while on trainers truck (usually 4 weeks)
.34 cpm your first 6 mos solo
Sliding scale performance pay after 6 months. Up to 50 cpm (starting nov 15, it was .46 when I started)..easy to obtain top pay, if you dont go home every 10 days.... I stay out 3 weeks and take off 4-6 days....
.5 extra for placarded hazmat loads (starting nov 15...was .2)
$75 a day lay over pay
$75 a day breakdown pay
$15 hr detention pay starting after 2 hr
Mostly reefer, mostly live load, unload....maybe 20% drop and hook
I have been averaging around 2500 to 3000 miles a week
I get home for a 10 hr one or two times inbetween hometimes....
Alot of NC freight
We dont have a terminal per say, more of a drop yard in Greensboro, NC
Great people. Great company so far for me.
About 165 OTR drivers, Nice Peterbilt trucks with APUs, fridge, inverters
Mostly midwest, texas, Oklahoma, NC, Ga, some NJ area. Nothing west of I25 in colorado usually no fla, no New England, alot of upper mid west.....
Ask any questions........ -
Btw...
Training is you driving 100% of the time, trainer in jumpseat. No team training.
My trainer drove a grand total of 45 minutes of my training. That was so we could get to a drop off and have a fresh clock when we left in the AM. I had driven out my 11 and we were 45 minutes from Williston ND. if you know ND....that is the middle of no where and because of the oil patch, parking is at a premium...so he drove last 45 minutes to stay at the recievers lot.Last edited: Nov 2, 2014

What are trucks governed at? Also starting pay for One year experience, who do you fuel with. Did you use I-40 lane more than I-95. I'm relocating back to NC and being on the eastern shore sucks for freight. Going home for 10 hour is out of Route 200 miles atleast . Thanks.

Truck governed at 64
I would think starting pay for experienced would be the performance pay. But I dont know how they set the starting wage...performance pay is based on Miles, fuel, on time, and citations Call and ask
Fuel with Pilot/flying j and at the main terminal in Fargo
I woud say I40 more than 95
I have been to Goldsboro several times, so getting close to New Bern! LolBlacktop Junkie Thanks this. -
Thank a lot!! McMickey great info, yea I close to Greensboro right off 85. Is if hard to get on at Magnum? I'm taking a refresher course soon I don't have any experience but a good overall record. I don't mind staying out 3 weeks for 4-6 day offs. Do Magnum run all manuals & how are they about getting you home

That first page Chinatown posted a link to the the magnum site describing good trainee info for you lwood including days off and transmissions. 10 speed manuals they use.

Ive only been there solo a couple months... but the couple times ive been on hometime, I got here the exact day I asked for.
Trucks are 10 speeds. I started out in a 2010 but 10 days ago they assigned me a 2015 Peterbilt. It had 54 miles on it when I left the yard... has 4600 on it now!
I dont think it would be a problem getting on with them if you have a decent mvr, criminal ect record. But call and ask. Recruiting is really cool. Emily is who I dealt with. not one lie or exaggeration.... sometimes takes a couple calls to get her...but they are busy. They also have a big LTL division, warehousing and a dedicated division but those are mostly ND, MN, SD, IA, WI. -
Not to get all up in your cup of kool-aid but do you make close to 1000 a week on average?

Oh thanks Blacktop my bad, I overlooked that. I appreciate all the info from yall! I'm looking to start around the end of the year
