    Hey folks

Can someone recommend me a good in-expensive cb radio magnetic antenna for my Cobra 29 LTD WX Classic peaked and tuned with voice back. I dont need to talk to mars but I'd like to get one with decent distant on it. I wanted to put a normal one on but the arm that holds the mount on the side mirror is to short sense it has about a 2 inch straight shaft followed by a curve to the side of the van.

I'd probably pick up the antenna online or maybe at a truck stop or something. Thanks for any info !

Probably the best Base-Loaded magnet mounted antenna is going to be the Wilson 5000...It and the Wilson 1000 are not all that different in price, and other than being able to handle more watts, the Wilson 5000 also has a better quality coax, than the rest of the Wilson line...

The "lil Wilson" is the worst of their antenna's, and is more of a "Introductory level Antenna"...(something beginners may want to pick up, just to see if they really want to get into CB Radio) It works...But not all that good. limited range...But you can usually find them around $20 or less, where the Wilson 1000 and 5000 will run you closer to $60-$80...But you get what you pay for...

I agree with jjd but my Lil Will on top of our Murano has great receive and get's out 'adequately' when on the interstates. It's hooked up to a little Cobra DX IV.

I'm going to vote for the Wilson 1000. It's the best you can get. The Wilson 5000 is good too but is the same thing as a Wilson 1000 except it has a bigger coil for if you're going to be running a lot of power. The Wilson 1000 will handle 3000 watts.

the wilson 5000 is a great antenna but for a good antenna get a lil willy. It will at least stay put at 65 MPH . I don't know how many times I had to pull my 5000 out of the back of my p/u but now I have a predator on 4 mags and that thing don't move at all.

I've never had the Lil' Will or the 5000 blow off. And yes, both antennas have seen speeds up to 90 MPH more than once.

Hi I'm Saddletramp from You Get Em' Wee Steal Em'. Get with it. Mirror mount for a truck is a better idea. Magnetic antenna will cost you a window at least. Not a good idea.
