I'm looking for some decent wide load lights, please show me what you fellas are using. Amber and red, must be magnetic to attach to tracked equipment etc. I'd like to find some that utilize the 3" LED clearance marker lights using neodymium magnets. thanks

I forget the guy's name, but I visited Monroe Motors on Franklin Blvd in Glenwood, Oregon, and during some off-topic conversation, the owner mentioned that he was producing the lights you are inquiring about, but for RV's.

He was a neighborly sort of fellow. Maybe give him a call.

I use my points at loves and buy those 4 inch long lights.

If i can find the small round ones, I get those too.

I had rechargeable batteries and the plug to recharge them with.

Fox Fire lights. Get the $50 (or more) ones, not the $30 ones. Magnents are really good and they are LED's so batteries last forever. Also have the 3 small LED's on the side so you can plop it facing "up" and it shows the 3 DOT lights for long loads.

Might not be the same brand but that's what Loves sells.

Some don't carry amber though, so those can be tough to find. I'll usually snag em if I see em for that reason. Spares.

Another thing I did. But the company I worked for had trailers that had plugs in the back for light bars on the long loads. 60' rebar.

I bought these from harborfrieght. Magnetics. At the time they were red on one side and amber on the other side. Swap the caps to have red on both sides and amber on both sides. I bought wiring from harborfreight. And the plugs I picked up from the trailer store.

Built my own set that I could lay out along the trailer and plug in to the plug on the back of trailer.
They're sold in pairs so 3 pairs will do the trick.
Kind of messy when storing as you'll have 52 feet of wiring wrapped around the lights is how I stored em.
Worked really good though. Without batteries.

I had some from the truckstop and some from Home Depot...whenever possible, I always tried to put one of those little elastic bungee cords over them as "insurance" because I lost a few of them...

Used to haul lock gates once in a great while. 20 ft wide load with police escorts. They had to move at night, so had to have lights on all 4 corners of the load. We made a set of these, but what a PITA trying to untangle the wiring whenever needed...maybe once every couple years...

I had it rolled up nice and neat. They got used once a month.

But yeah. They can get tangled.

I’m also going to throw my vote in for a wired set of lights. The Firefox lights are bright but they eat a set of 4 double a battery’s in less then 15 or so hours it seems. If I’m running lights I need them to work period.

I probably have least then what 4 firefoxes cost ($200) in this wired set up I built to cover our 20’x60’ loads we move at night. Modular with 2 pin plugs and led 4” lights with magnets on the bottom. 18/2 sjoow cord. Everything stores in 2 plastic tubs.

AMEN ON THE TUBBIE. Forgot to mention that.

I had a plastic tool box. With all my OS equipment. Everything folded nice and neat. Folded flags and banners. Except for the stick flags. I just wrapped those together and stored em in the outside side compartments under the bed.
