Found a used K40 magnet antenna for $25. Thinking of buying it. How does it compare to the Wilson 1000?
I have more radios than antennas....need to fix that. MSRP for K40 mag is around $95 anyway.

If it hasn't been messed with or abused, it is still a good antenna. Especially for the price.

Cbradiomagazine has a goid review on the K40. I used a Wilson 1000 for 9 years on my personal vehicle and it performed excellent. Just recently I purchased a Stryker SR-5K and from day one my swr would spike and I think its from the screw on end they used, I plan on changing ends and putting a permanent one on. You cant beat that price so if antenna is in good shape I would give it a try instead of spending 100 bucks for a new one.

well get a sirio and have hard drive(there are videos on youtube of fine tune cb)upgrade the coax and watch his vids where you can make it better with some silly cone to preserve it..

Would've been nice. Too bad the whip was bent, and worse, the coax screwed up. The first clue was the random electrical tape on the cable. My SWR meter went off the charts. So did my General Lee-- even on low power, a really bad antenna match (worse than 3:1) makes it hiss with RF feedback.

Bt...Somethin like that is not even worth taken a chance on keyin up..
Thats an advantage an antenna analyzer has over testing with your radio.. -

Dont know bout you but i aint stickin my hand in a gators mouth..Even if my radio has swr protection..BUT thats just me,mister anal, stubborn kanook as bord silly likes to call me
