I wanted to post this just to give some objective facts about this smaller company. I was looking for some information about them when I was getting hired but nothing was posted. These are just facts not my opinion. Overall rating of them in my opinion is fair to good.
I worked for this company for only a short time. I have been an owner-operator and have about 3yrs exp.
I will breakdown the pieces and give you my experience:
Equipment: The have about 50 trucks, most are Freightliner Century with 10 speed tranny and the Cummins N-14 engine. They are all older 2000-2002 model year. Most have 1.2-1.6million miles on them. They have new paint and look nice outside, but inside most are very dirty with lots of broken interior parts. They do many in house repairs and have a staff of about 5 mechanics. I was still in the repair shop on the road 5 times in 6 weeks. Air governor, belts went, wiper motor, alternator, and once for the reefer unit. My truck also had many leaks and had water coming in from the rear that soaked my mattress and from the skylight and windshield.
The 2 reefer units I pulled worked ok, they are older both were 1998 year one had 36Khours and the other had 55K hours. You are assigned a truck and trailer.
Pay/Experience: They want you to have at least 1-2 yrs experience to run for them. They started me at .32cpm per mile with 3 yrs exp. and a clean DAC and record. The miles I received pay for were always a bit short but I was not sure exactly what system they used to calculate runs. I was about 5-10% off. Pay was always on time and was always correct. I even got a 50.00 x-mas bonus and had only been with them 30 days.
Dispatch: Dispatch is small and you will only speak with 3 people, and they will know your name. They will run you hard, you can expect 3000miles a week every week. You will have to be very good at your logs. Most of the time you will have to be "creative" with your logs to make the drops and picks on time. If you do not make it on time you will be talk to. I always made my appointments on time. I was only talked to when I refused my first load due to fatigue.
Runs: You will run mostly produce from Nogales,AZ to the East coast, you will be in NYC and Boston a lot. They then run alot of bulk mail to get you back to AZ for another produce load. Expect to be out 3-6 weeks at a time and then no matter how long you were out they will start pressuring you to get running in 3 days or less.
These are just facts. I will keep my personal reasons for leaving to private messages only. Hope this helps and good luck.

Sounds like a typical produce ltl operation to me....getting 5 to 10% less on the runs means you were getting hhg miles......hub woulda been better
-
They do run junk equipment, a lot of ex England trucks and Henderson trailers.
SlaveOf18Wheels Thanks this. -
What was the reason why you quit working for m bjorn petersen???
-
i was thinking on going with them but looks like the equipment sucks.☻

Allow me to explain my encounter with them, I called a Ad in the Phoenix Area Cl on the web and I first got Bill "The Recruiter" Bill took my information over the phone all the reports printed right before his eyes, he said I would have to speak with the "Sam" The Owner so he say "Hold" so I hold and hold and hold, and I hear the line click and he picks up and says(with a eastern Europe accent) "Vis is Sam how may I help you?"I said I am and ingruduce myself being sure to cal myself what I like to be called, and he says, into the phone "Bill do you have this guys reports?"I and I assume Bill brings them to him, and says (calling me by a nick name that I do not ever use like Bill for William or Chuck for Charles but I want to keep my ananimity) he says hacking into the phone! "Knick name)vat happened at this place you worked? And I explained and he says "vat happened here?" And again in I explained, and then he says "when can you start?" I told him immediately, then he says "to call him tomorrow before I come back down there to get the rest of my paperwork completed and to complete my drug test, so the next day rolls around so I call and Bill answers the phone so I explain who I am and that I was supposed to chedk to see if Sam was going to be there for a while? Bill says no "Hi how ya doing "I nothing just HOLD SO I HOLD AND sam comes on the line, and so I explain myself and tell him who I am again and he says "Who" and I explain that I spoke yesterday and Sam goes "oh I'm here are you ready to get started?"I and im thinking what kind of a place is this that the owner doesn't remember who I am and the "recruiter" makes no salutations or anything. So I say well yes I wanted to come down and meet with you TBC.
-
So I get there to the address given and I walk up the steps to this all I can describe it as is a "Construction Trailer" inside the door the was propped open was BILL the recruiter, I introduce myself and I have a pretty easy name that is not as common as Smith Jones or Brown but it is up there in the top 50 common names, and he says "Oh" I have your paperwork here, he says you will have to meet with Sam so he calls out to "Sam" who is 2 desks away in the construction traler and Sam says come on down, he never stands up to shack my hand just motions to sit in the chair? between his desk and the Dispatchers desk, and he goes back over my paperwork and while he reading the reports and DAC and all he is grawling I'm thinking Ok now what
-
So he grawls for I promise you 10 minutes and then said Bill do you have a drug test form get gim down there for a drug test, I'm thinking no ojne ever told me how much I would make or anyrging.. so Bill gives me the drug form and away I go, I get back out and the shop it putting an engine in a truck, I think WOW these must be old trucks! So I get down the street and call Bill and tell him I will have my wife drop by the next day to get my physical info. So she gets there and asks my WIFE IF SHE WAS MY DAUGHTER! I would also like to say that I tried to find their MC number and I cant find it so I would say stay away. Just my opinion of what I found when I applied.

i think i would pass on working for mr bjorn._/☺
