Apparently the 2008 Powermaxx11 I drive is a gutless wonder and this one really has no power. According to specs I should have peak power around 1300rpms. It's just a dog. I am thinking about using Lucas Fuel Treatment for a couple of tanks hoping that any clogged injectors get cleaned up. Common power related issues seem to involve low fuel pressure, air in fuel system, clogged cv/egr, sooted turbo fan basically just clogged stuff. I have used Lucas in gasoline vehicles for decades and have experienced the benefits first hand. A local diesel mechanic I spoke with seems to like it. Any thoughts on this?

There are expensive pills that will increase schlong size by 70% too ... if you buy and take enough of them, of course.

May I suggest a few extra fuel filters and wrench.

I'm wondering, may it is my boredom today but are you an owner?

    Or just a driver?

Thanks for being no help at all. Lucas will help clean the injectors. I replaced the catalytic converters in my car over a year ago and then last fall it started acting the same way it did before replacement, no power. I used Lucas and within a few days power was restored probably because it actually cleans the injectors.

It also could be that it is tuned down to an economy mode to save fuel. If that's the case no amount of money you put in it to clean will help.

Lucas is a good product,no denying that. Some problems are 1 Diesels run on crude fuel and run "dirtier" than a gas motor.2 bigger combustion chambers etc (a lot more surface area to clean) .You may find after some new filters, and fresh filled tanks itll run decent.Lucas shouldnt hurt, though.I say try it.JMO

Ask the owner when was the last time he "ran the rack" (did an overhead). It should be done about every 100K miles. That can resolve many issues.

Regarding fuel additives I have used two with good effect. Marvel Mystery Oil is an excellent lubricant.

Xtreme is another product I use in fuel, oil, hubs, transmission, and differentials. It is heat activated and bonds to the surface of hot metal, coating it to reduce friction. It's expensive, but you only use a little each treatment. It's hard to find, I pick up a gallon anytime I can at the Petro in Joplin, MO.
