I have a question about Lowe's hiring process for their non-CDL drivers. I know you have to get your DOT medical card but do they use a urinalysis for this position or a mouth swab like their regular store positions? I made the mistake of smoking one day when i was drinking. I have a good chance at getting the job but I'd rather decline the offer if that's the case. Only input if you have something relevant to say to my question, don't need 50 people trolling because they have nothing better to do.

No, I've got plenty to do - but a flame suit may be needed here.

    HAHAAA that's really funny.

Answer your question. About 10+ years ago. Lowe's /HD had subcontractors delivering the appliances side. They never drug tested us ( the sub or Lowes/hd )
I'd assume driving directly for them would be urine trouble and go sling some pizzas for a bit and go apply.

Can't dictate the responses. Mr. Mistake. Obviously don't know your audience.

You forgot the part about where you tell us who made you do it. Was it a wife? girlfriend? buddies?

When did I ever say someone made me do it? lol. I own up to things I do, the consequences brought on by my actions are directly related to decisions I made, right or wrong. Just because you're ignorant doesn't mean I am ;)

Yes I do have a good chance of being offered the job, but I will decline it if they want me to take an urinalysis because I'm not going to ruin future opportunity with the company. Your attempt at being clever is null and void

I'm not jabbin' at you, I was just poking fun at the reoccurring topic. Every 3 days or so a thread is started exactly like yours.

In all seriousness, I doubt you will like what you are going to hear. It seems folks around here object to someone coming in who is currently in violation of the industries leading rule.

Seriously I appreciate you clearing that up. I understand what you mean as it can be a major safety issue not only for the driver but for everyone else on the road. I'll admit I used to smoke often when I was in my senior year of high school but stopped so I could get jobs and focus while in college. I get that a lot of truckers don't want someone coming in that could possibly harm someone but I don't get the bashing they try to do when someone truly makes a bad decision one time as if they've never made a bad decision in life. When I was in the military, my MOS was an 88M and I drove military tractors and flat beds so it's not as if I'm new to trucking or in any way some fool who has no idea what they are getting into. I know my actions have consequences, and the fault is mine, but one wrong choice should not affect the question of a man's integrity.

I'm ignorant interpreting your context. HAHAHA. I don't care dude. Smoking pot isn't a mistake lol. Crap happens, Not a mistake. Think about what i just wrote.
Here's a hint and not being clever. Lowe's will pay you less then slinging pizza.
Fact: Pizza place most likely will NOT drug test.

Dude you like to smoke, Big fricking deal ?!

Why is lowe's so high on your non cdl driving agenda? You do know who the primary audience here is right ?

Aim higher and go get a CDL :biggrin_25516:
