I actually just meant the discount at TA was 5 cents over the discount at Love's. The actual discount was between 40 and 70 cents. TVC discounts seem to vary. Sometimes it's 20 cents, but last month when I'd go to NY I was getting well over a dollar off at the Love's in Ripley NY, basically same price as my cheapest regular spot in MO. I'll check NASTC out though. Someone told me Mudflap was good too.

Comdata through Amazon (I’ve never hauled an Amazon load). Cost plus and .32 off at Loves. It’s better than all the hoops and add ons you have to pay with NASTC. NASTC has a far better app and data though, as well as control over the card. It’s a great card for this that want a compliance package.

I also have a Fleetone Edge with a Schneider add on contract that gives me .25 off at TA which is great when fuel is rising and cost plus sucks.

Yeah, it has come to the point where buying diesel for cash is an insane proposition.
It used to be that discounts of 40-60 cents were awesome. Now they seem hardly like discounts.
Some of these discounts are as much as $1.80 e.g. Sonoco Travel Plaza on Indiana Turnpike, once It was posted for $5.70 and Fleet One Edge got $3.90.
Then in a matter of night, the discounts may be down to 30 cents only...
This is all B.S. and screwing around with consumers.
It only shows how those petro companies are manipulating what is supposed be a free market. What about the antitrust laws, don't they apply to them...looks like they are setting prices, to be able to offer discount of more than 80 cents or 1 dol pretty much everywhere?!

The world is very tumultuous right now, and that leads to a lot of speculation, up and down. Nice and steady is best for everyone but those in place to capitalize on chaos. Let’s face it, rates were awesome last year, but nice and steady, profitable for everyone, years are far better overall.

The base fuel is identical everywhere... Pipelines transfer it throughout the region served by said pipeline to all the loading Terminals.
The difference between stores is the additives they put in while we load our trucks.
Think of it like a soda fountain at the quick mart...
Water comes in via pipe to the store, and feeds the soda fountain.
Carbonation is added inline, and is available at any port in that bank.
Whether you choose coke, root beer, orange, or diet, the water is the same.
The difference between them is which port you choose to fill your cup.
    Similar with fuels...
Each supplier has a proprietary recipe of additives they use to enhance their products.
Is what differentiates between shell, Mobil, mapco, pilot, loves, ta, etc...
Cheapest stuff out there that I know of is Walmart/Murphy USA...
Certainly not bagging on them, as they consume ridiculous volume of fuel... But, it's the cheapest available.
When you sell thousands of barrels of fuel a day, you can squeeze a few cents better pricing, and skimp on additives.
    Best performing fuels?
Exxon, citgo, and motiva, in my experience, in that order.
Pro tip - truck stop fuels are decent, and their tanks are always clean... But, if you don't have a fuel card or have to buy retail, Walmart is a solid choice... You can fit if you're bobtail... Their canopies are 16 feet or higher.
If I can get a fuel truck in, you can get a van in but only if your tandems are all the way forward.
Look at the satellite view, and check access lanes for easy in and easy out.
Use street view to locate the diesel pumps.

I always fill up at pilot/fj and the fuel is always light brown and flows thin with lots of bubbles/head, like champagne/beer. every time i've filled at love's the fuel is dark green/brown and flows thick like melted butter, almost no bubbles. i guess the bubbles are the detergents, the viscosity is indicative of bio blend ratio?

all I know is i'm particular to shell gas in personal vehicles as a kind of dogma, the one single time I put a tank of texaco gas in the toyota v8 it liked to have run at half power and sound like death. After filling strictly pilot/fj for 9+ months, a tank of diesel from anywhere else has the same effect on the DD13, feels like china buffet fuel :puke:

I load a glycerine product at Future Fuels at the same rack as the Love's and PFJ trucks load. I was in there again today and I was noticing the the Loves's and PFJ and other tankers weren't placarded like they would be hauling fuel. So I talked to a couple of their drivers and found out that they only load the Bio there. It has 1% Diesel and 99% Bio. The fuel gets blended sometime before or when they load fuel at their racks.

I know we deliver bio diesel to a couple truck stops, but neither is pilot or loves.
They have separate tanks for bio, and blender pumps that blend inline while delivering at the pump.
Their pumps indicate b20, b50, and b100 choices.
Northern states often add bio at certain times of the year to meet environmental regs as I understand.
