According to press releases from Love's, they intend to open 40 new locations each year through the end of 2018. At which time they will have as many or more locations than PFJ. In my view they are moving aggressively to take business away from Pilot after their fuel discount scam/debacle. And I think they are winning. Several of the locations are on non-interstate sites, sorely needed where mom and pop truckstops used to rule but have gone out of business.

Kinda dumb for them to waste money building truckstops because the robot driven trucks will be here soon.

Even robot driven trucks need fuel. What I can't wait to see are the robots behind the fuel counter. Slip on a pair of virtual reality goggles and what else do we need...

Love's is on to something for some reason besides providing what they do for trucking. there's a few auto's only here and there that don't service trucking at all.

landed in a empty tire pass lane today for fuel while all others were in a scramble for the other fuel lanes. had a 7 minute wait that started on the street, when the opportunity presented itself I snaked the way in. wasn't long after I began fueling two other trucks pulled in behind me.. hmm I was in and out but the two behind waited. my turn is around the corner

Okay. So Loves is blowing and going and building new truck stops like crazy. But they still can not develop a driver kiosk or automated shower system at these new sites? And their wifi systems work like dial-up internet from 15 years ago? Am I missing something?

So loves is a good place to fuel with there 4 points per gal. But loves is just a fueling point not a truck stop. Pilot and loves are building witch is great with this parking shortage going on thanks to elogs. But an 8 island 40 parking space area isn't a truck stop.

Pilot is the worst thing to happen to fluting J. And the Governor's brother played dumb on the fuel rebate scandal. (who was he fooling claiming he didn't know it was going on.) But I'm sure the loves chain wouldn't stoop to such level. That isn't Tom Love's way of business.

Petro/TA has the more full service type trucking centers. But either TA bought out Petro or vise versa. And has foreign interest group running things. But I haven't seen them expanding a lot.

Loves really has a good service with tire pass though. Like an old service station almost. But I'm sure the days of a driver pulling up to the pumps. And telling the attendant how many gals he wanted, and the attendant washing his windshield, checking oil. All while the driver refilled his thermos with coffee and paid for
the fuel are far done with. A trk stop use to be glad to have us as a customer. Now most of them just want you fueling or spending money and leaving.

    Oldironfan and dca Thank this.
