Maybe Love's can't add more gasoline to the diesel fuel, or can't charge more for merchandise, but the advertisement I witnessed proclaimed that the truck stop chain is now accepting food stamp cards. Not to offend those that actually need these cards for simple survival, however, to advertise this on a billboard facing the diesel fuel island, where actual hard-working, tax-paying drivers and owner-operators are filling their fuel tanks with sub-par diesel, and paying exorbitant fuel taxes on their purchase, is almost like twisting the knife, then salting the wound.
Love's Travel Centers now accepting food stamp cards!

Oh good, now I have a convenient place to shop with my food stamps. At least now it will make it much easier to spend my much needed food stamp money. Lets see, breakfast, biscuit and coffee, lunch, a hot dog smothered in chili and onions washed down with a 44oz Mountain Dew, supper, one of those frozen dinners and lets not forget a tin of skoal. Thank you Love's!
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

They used to accept them as marketing to the locals who stopped in needing some basic staple items, but it's funny they are now making sure the truckers themselves are aware of this because apparently this is the new trend in Obamaville
... yes, many mega-fleet truck drivers perhaps do qualify for food stamps. It's simply an indication of where the trucking trade is and is headed.
