Enjoy that while you can. Truck parking is going to be eliminated in the near future, turning it into an RV park area.

Im not trolling, I’ve seen many people calling “gang member” to current fashion trends. Heard the term “stolen valor” that same tactic is used by wannabe anything. I’ve been in all those truck stops since the 90s in Memphis area, nothing different from any other urban area. Your fear mongering is typical backwoods ignorance, I just want to know how he knows they are actual gang members. I was called gang member in my younger years, never was.

Knife attacks freak me out. Watched too many real online videos of people being knifed. I’d rather deal with someone with a gun. And yes, there’s a loves and a few other stops grouped together there along 78. AVOID them all if you value your life.

First off, I do not fearmonger. I am a licensed carry and divide people in 3 catagories. Gang threat, Law enforcement and sheep. When I go out into public here at home I very very very rarely identify a gang member. There are some but our Lawmen root them out just as sure as anything. You cannot come here as a stranger and not be detected. We had 4 houston gangmembers armed break into a drug store in the field near my home one night then. Two were captured within 40 seconds by lawmen at gunpoint. The other two escaped and ran past me taking garbage out while armed. They had pistols and showed Prey FLIGHT from law predators coming after them. The two gang did not point anything at me thankfully. If they did I would have had to draw and we will go from there.

Range to one was at 18 yards, I had laser and big light on weapon right to left running, other was at 22 yards full speed running towards parked cars that would have provided cover. Not a ideal situation to engage. The lawmen were 30 yards behind and trying to keep up three total at right angles to me behind the predators. I will never forget the two in my mind forever. Its like that when you are faced with a bad situation.

They were rundown and corralled and captured that morning 7 hours later in a field or swamp. 6 counties worth of law plus helicopter thermal and dogs and armor vehicles. We don't live there now. Thats one rule we have no gangs where we live. Its from Baltimore City where we deal with the NYC Gangs selling drugs back in the 80's in half of my lifetime in my former city block. According the the grafiitti on corners and boarded up homes used as crackhouses etc its gang territory. NOT normal people who sweep their stoops and send kids to school every day.

This was then, early in my life.

This is TODAY very much the same city, but ruins and gang, poverty and drugs and so on. Destroyed essentially....

You do NOT get to tell me Fearmongering. Here is the linked evidence of what bad things have become in last 50 years. Video starts off quietly and then progresses into very stressful life issues with gunfire at night etc.

    Part two.

What you define as typical backwoods ignorance is something that I will talk about one time and discard as having no meaning.

I have been in the entire USA, parts of mexico and canada in urban cities good and bad as well as life threatening as a trucker for decades of my life. I have had to depend on my mind, wit and evaluation of whoever I am near in a variety of situations good and bad and sometimes even under attack by bad guys in the truck or near it. I have told those stories many times as they happened. Some I do not talk online about as they are very ... damaging and not for public boards like this one. Such as the knifer I had to deal with at 15. The law got involved then. They got him. And thats all I say on that one. He had me dead to rights just as sure as a baa'ing sheep clueless to danger. That was me. It was life changing. As a adult that does not bother me anymore. Not now. Been in that situation as a defender against a sexual predator attacking my team driving wife inside my truck cab, only this time I am the knifer.

Backwoods ignorance. HA. the nerve. But thats ok. Free speech and all. It does not hurt me any. What I think we are trying to do is understand one another. Not exactly get along, buts that is ok too. You and I will not be dealing with each other here due to the list that is used to keep us away from making more potential trouble and disrupting topics of converstation and so on by many others. It will serve you better to be careful how you throw around terms to people you do not know very well. Consider that.

When I run into a learning time about something I am ignorant about (AS IN NOT KNOWING anything...) People here over and over take me to school about it and I learn something every single day. I value that. It adds to my pile. And is useful. Yes sometimes that learning is a bad tasting medicine but I had it coming then. Its all good. Good and bad. You see...

Good luck to you. I did give you a fair shake and a balanced consideration of your thoughts. But enjoy the list. Best wishes to you and yours.

If that scares you then I have a whole list of other cities you should avoid. I do avoid city truck stops more because of dirty showers and possible food poisoning but I’ve stopped at Lamar ave Loves many times. Doesn’t compare to St Louis MO, Gary In , Birmingham AL, Baltimore MD , Newark Nj or like 10 other cities I could name. More times then not when something happens to someone like getting robbed or murdered they went looking for something that made them a target. My guess is this is more about you not appreciating the way an employee their spoke too you, but that’s not my business ‍♂️
