I want to take my muffler off my exhaust to get a nice loud sound to really hear the engine but I notice when I use my jake on the cat 3406e she screams really loud and I had dispatch say something about how loud it is... Is there a way to make the truck a little bit less louder maybe smaller muffler ? I have 5 inch single pipe.. Bigger diameter give me a deeper sound would it mellow out the sound a little ? I love the sound though of not having. Muffler but it's really really loud... Any tips are greatly appreciated thank you..

I have run straight stacks, I hate them. Colorado will give a ticket. I know they make a short 5" resonator that a lot of guys use.

Maybe don't use jake in the terminal yard......

My W900 has 7 inch exhaust with no mufflers. It sounds sweet when I'm going through the gears and the Jake will wake the dead. The key is a resonator. It quiets it down when you're driving down the road. You don't get that annoying droan sound.

I like the loud sound trust me
. But our safety corridnator says we need mufflers on our trucks so I am trying to find a way that I can have one and he can't say nothing but I still have the loud sound... By getting a shorter muffler or
this resonator it will give me more sound instead of a regular muffler ?D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
All these louder exhaust systems are really cool.Louder is better.Love straight pipes.Getting everybody's attention is neat. Especially the bears.
Until you get to be my age, early 60's, and you have a constant ringing in your ears, you have hearing loss, and your Doc says too much noise caused it.
Leave those mufflers on, you can thank me later. -
Most states have laws on the books prohibiting modifications to the exhaust system which makes them louder than what they were when they left the manufacturer. I've seen DOT here standing on the side of the road flagging down trucks that appeared to have straight pipes and looking to see if the muffler was tucked away under the truck. No muffler? Ticket time. That's why I'm perfectly content keeping my mufflers right there on the stacks where they are hard NOT to see...one less thing to be hassled for.

Like my guns like I like my straight pipes. Take them both from my cold dead hands
