I'm looking into leasing with a trucking company. I don't have the moneys to go and buy my own truck and I wont do leasing if I can't pick my own loads because what's the point... I'd rather find something where if I dont like it or can't do well with the company I can return the truck and walk out.. obviously somewhere that does no down payment. Anyone know of any companies? I know sni but I don't have a full year or six mo with them and Im currently looking at kllm .. farm2fleet is merging with covenant that scares me they like to force teams which I refuse to do.. I don't want flatbed either reefer or van

well if ya want to pick your own loads, you got to buy your own truck. you seem to want to try it out and not have anything at risk.

that's not how it works, you are in a dreamworld.

you want all the perks and none of the responsibility, want to make all the choices and none of the sacrifices. life aint that easy.

owning your own is definitely not for u, even if ya win the lottery and can pay cash, don't do it.

I wouldn't mind buying my own truck but I don't have any money right now. I want to go with sni but I don't have a full year and im looking for someone like them. Unless you know a truck seller who can do no payment down no credit check I am looking into lease.

Leasing - and then being obligated to stick with the company you lease through - is not at all the same as 'picking [your] own loads'. Having some fabricated 'choice' by the company your leased to is just not the same thing. There are pros and cons to leasing (mostly cons, IMO, but others might feel different) but you don't even have a full year driving. Get the full year first, get a much wider perspective on the trucking business and get much more info on various company's operations as well as leasing programs before possibly going down the leasing road. And save some money. If you don't have any money stashed you're not in a position to lease let alone buy.

If you "don't have any money at all" you're going to crash and burn doing this. It's the fastest way to fail at starting a business there is.

not quite true. there is one company that does everything they can to make sure what you all on this forum say will happen, doesn't happen. and from the drivers i've talked too. they haven't had to spend one penny out of there wallet.

all you gotta do is meet there qualifications.

So, what's the Fairy Godmother's name that you don't have to "spend one penny" to run a trucking business? Inquiring minds would like to know...

I started with $4000 cash a year ago.

I now have my own authority , a touch more cash as well as all my credit cards paid off.

You can do it if you can figure it out.

I have $15,000 in the bank, credit cards paid off, working on paying the note on my truck off, and leased to a carrier. Yup, you can do it.

I'd still like to know which fairy godmother has the magic wand that allows you to not spend any of your jack and still end up where we're at. Mayhaps there's a secret pot 'o gold too!!
