Yup...they got some nice equipment. They advertise average length of haul 1500 miles. Saw one of their trucks in Louisiana a couple of days ago. Man it looked sharp! The question is, does the OP like purple? Lol

When I worked reefer. I lived overtired.
Indian River....complaint is they spend alot of time sitting and waiting on a load.
You could get good pay and work local? Pick where you want. Pilot fuel hauling.
I could put you in contact with my boss? Doubt he wants somebody else right now. He's acting rather burnt out with what he's handling now. Coast to Coast dedicated Hazmat run. Based in Akron area. We run through PA to Virginia and don't pay one toll. I love that. Bypass the criminal politicians in Philly. Got one driver that will last only two more years. I do fuel often. Sometimes a couple times a day. But that's life when you work for a small carrier that can't get Pilot to give him a decent discount. Good time off every week. Benefits if you want them. Great guy to work for. He even offered to give me a run to Miami back in Jan. Feb. for some warmth. :) He'd do my run. .... The run will end when Cascadia fault line goes. It goes like clockwork. Every 300 years. It's overdue. A larger than major quake. They expect 9+. It intersects and always causes San Andreas to go too. The geologists can't even guess what will happen in California.
My run...you could live in Akron area, somewhere in Iowa area he said, or Rapid City SD. Works out for the electronic clock.
This run did take some getting used to. Run 65mph for 11 hours. And I mean 11. You cut it to the last minute. Took me a while to get used to that. Talk about anxiety.
I get 9mpg with this truck. He has gotten as much as 11 with his Pete. But admits he was driving 58 to 60 to do that.
You might talk to him? He has one driver that does other. Running all over. Sometimes steps in to help with my run. Three of us regularly do this run. He has trucks. If you seem really good. Might work something up for you?

I can definitely vouch for Upstaging. Been here for nearly 5 years, and love every minute of it. It certainly isn't for everyone given that we stay out for much longer than a normal freight hauler, but for many the tradeoff is worth it. Great equipment, great pay, great perks, low turnover.

We are weekly salary, and average maybe 60k miles a year. You will get plenty of downtime, just not necessarily at home throughout the year. Most of us spend roughly Feb-Dec on the road then take a long break in the winter.

As long as you're not too big on taking hometime, it looks like this job could be a lot of fun.
