Hi, everyone...I am looking to go to school in the near future and live in Virginia Beach VA. Any feedback on ATI, Tidewater Community College or 4CDL (through Thomas Nelson Community College) would be appreciated.
Oh...and a little about me since I'm new here....love the website. I am 42 year old female looking to escape the cubicle and want to see the country. I am interested in OTR and can commit to staying on the road 3-4 weeks at a time. I have gained valuable insight into the daily grind of trucking through family and friends who do the job, visits to sites like this, and truck stops. I know it is hard work and long hours. My hat's off to all you truckers who deliver everything...every day.
Thanks,
LittleFeet

There all pretty much the same they will teach how to pass to get your license nothing more they tell you your company will teach you everthing else.
The real training begins when you go out with a mentor and thats the real test good luck to youLittleFeet Thanks this. -
Here something else u may want to think about. Living in Virginia Beach Va not one of the best places to get a job. Many companies will not hire from that area for it be hard to get u home.

Do you have an uncle named Bigfoot.?

I am a little confused, coastie. Virginia Beach is right next to Norfolk VA (The Port of Virginia) and that is one of the largest ports on the east coast. I am also 1 1/2 hours from Richmond VA. Is there something I am missing?
and...very funny Chinatown
... I call myself LittleFeet 'cause I am 4'11'' and have little feet....but I love my feet and take them everywhere I go...Yes, I am strange, but in a good way.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Good for you. My little wifey, in the picture, is also 4'11" and size 5 shoe.
For trucking jobs, check with the CDL schools and ask who recruits from the schools. Check the websites Indeed and Careerbuilder. Also, keep in mind, not all companies run 48 states, so if you want 48 states keep that in mind. It should be on the websites.LittleFeet Thanks this. -
