So, I was told to come to this site, I worked with one trucking company fresh out of school got a week of hands on training then went teams with the trainer. Well after being unable to fall asleep while the trainer was driving and thus being unable to safely drive afterward the company brought me back to El Paso and now everything is up in the air the consensus from people I have spoken to in the industry is Quit and find a new job Hence why I'm here. I as wondering if any other fellows from El Paso had any recommendations on jobs. Or could steer me in the right direction. I'm really just looking for a company that has a good hands on training program, that isn't team driving veiled as training.

    tscottme Thanks this.

I'm not from El Paso, but will help you find a new job.
Plenty of other drivers on this forum will also.

Some questions for you....to better answer your question:

    • Any wrecks/citations in your driving history?
    • What's your criminal history like?
    • What CDL endorsements do you have (if any)?
    • How much hometime do you want/need? Daily? Weekly? Less? How long can you stay out, OTR?
    • What type(s) of freight interest you?

Schneider is strictly no team driving during training, and they hire out of El Paso. Companies that don’t run training trucks as a team are becoming rare, unfortunately.

Looks like Schneider is a sure bet. The other's will require some research.

No wrecks or citations, No criminal history, No endorsements tested on a manual so that isn't an issue, though I'd prefer automatic. Weekly would be optimal. I'll do OTR, If i really have to not an issue local would be cool to try or even regional but again OTR is still on the table. As for what freight not really sure what freight interests me haven't worked in the industry long enough.
