Best shop in the area was in Denton TX owned by "Wizard"
Pretty sure he passed away within the past 8 years.
Never heard of the other place.

Are you looking to buy new? Or get an old one worked on?

Unless you're getting a custom install I'd recommend shipping your radio to a reputable shop. Both ways via ups ground would only be 15-30$.

Buying new I would recommend Clays Radio Shop in San Antonio, but that's just my preference(everyone had their own). I'm still running a peaked 29 in my truck bought from him online 8 years ago...

A few coworkers swear by Ike's off Irving Blvd and loop 12. Stands behind his work, and the radios sound like they're tuned right.(No splatter or horrendous overmodulation). Never been there personally, just know that's where some of my coworkers prefer.

Ike can make your 10w radio do 30w's on "his" meter! :D

As for "CB Shack", I've known Tim for years and he does know his stuff...Only problem is, he's a one-man-show and usually has radios backed-up waiting to be fixed...If your not in a hurry, and can leave the radio with him for a day or two, then I wouldn't hesitate to let him do the work...If you have something simple that needs attention, depending on how buisy he is at the time, he maybe able to get to you while you wait...

Mike Kilgore's is over towards Fort Worth off I-20 and the Mansfield business exit...He's a older gentlemen that does great work, specially on older radios...He can do somethings with the newer SMT board radios, but not allot, so depending on what you need or want done, he may or may-not be able to work on a SMT radio...

    Mikes number is: 817-478-2111...
