I'm based out of WacoTexas and I am looking for a contact on some of the good paying pipe loads coming out of Houston going to North Dakota or Wyoming without going through a broker. Please PM me or you can email me at robbiedhorn@yahoo.com. These broker loads are killing me. I give the brokers hell all the time but there is always someone out there eager to haul for cheap, NOT ME. If you hook me up I will gladly give you a tip $$.

    First of all..Whats Cheap?

Secondly..I highly doubt the Broker is going to gouge on a Houston to North Dakota.....Their arent too many people banging on the door for that lane...

    Heres some GREAT advice,,,,,,,,,,,

If you are in Waco. Why not look for Smaller,Less Hectic manufacturing in georgetown,Austin,Waco,etc...

Forget Houston..or as you guys call it "H-Town"...........Too many trucks and Pipe stakes going on.

Go down to Buda and talk to the boys over at Kloeckner Metals...They have LTL's and truckload overflow their own trucks cant handle...... PackRat right there in Austin

Move some Stone ...Theres so Much to do closer to home than Houston

I think at one point pipe paid well, but down here everyone and their mother own a flat and have cut the rates drastically.

Pipe pays $3/mi to the truck all day anyday some even have fuel on top of that but brokers kick that rate down to $2/mi not sure were that industry standard come from but seems most anyone will haul for that!

On rare occasions it still has a decent rate on it, but you won't get it from a broker he is just flat out of options. To many guys around Houston running for a buck 25 a mile. The entire state of Texas is just a bad market. Very cheap freight for flat beds.

companies that haul direct for kinder morgan, tenaris or some of the project companies see $4 a mile or they used to . Ive dispatched at one or 2 and know guys that all they do is haul pipe.
I think the rates have gone down when brokers that dont understand the market go in and offer less than $3 per mile

f/bed loads going to midland are down to about $1500 to the truck via broker. Ive seen some as low as $1000.00 theyll call you and say , Hell its $2.00 a mile. Like thats a magic # that fixes everything. I didnt even like running up there for $1500 no way Im going for less, but again its brokers from the outside looking in that dont understand the market.
Well at least thats my opinion, could be wrong.

Actually..Most of them DO understand the market...But dont care..They Feel the odds are in their favor they WILL find Power....

Your Right Pipe going 500 miles to west texas should be paying the truck around $2200.....No ifs ands or Butts about it.

Here is another TIP for you 1 truck guys that can use some direct freight..... Contact McJunkin..They buy and sell Pipe Everywhere....

You can owe me a solid later!!
