File the police report and forward the information to Uship. The police will probably contact Uship and get better information on the guy who stole your stuff.

 

Yeah, I get their model of rates race to the bottom with the whole bidding thing. But I just assumed they were like any other middleman, in the sense of the middleman representing me in a case like this. If their taking a cut of some sort...Oh I think I just answered my own question. Who pays Uship, the carrier or the O.P.

 

I'm guessing Uship gets payed by the carrier to use their platform and nothing more. That way they have no liability when something goes wrong. Must be in the fine print somewhere. The only way to feel safe is to look at the reviews from other customers who have used the carrier before.

 

I screwed that up didn't I...

 

Uship has a upsell protection plan, they use this as an excuse to get out of lots of potential liability.

 

Ok. That makes sense now. That seems fair then. You don't want to buy it then you take the risk.
