This is a long shot, but worth a try as we have had a devastating loss. I am hopeful the trucking community is a small enough world someone has some information that may help us.
I am looking for help tracking down some very personal items (Fathers Ashes, estate material, etc.). We used UShip and found a company with whom we have very little information. Names, e-mail, and phone numbers lead to nothing. Uship cannot help us. I will list what I do have from UPS tracking (as someone sent us UPS tracking slips at one point as proof of shipping) and from Uship. The shipped items were cancelled about a week ago. The items were picked up in Collingwood, Ontario on or about March 21st and it's been a back and forth leading no where for months.
The information we have from UShip is:
Name: Theophilus Toney
Email: WinCityShipping@gmail.com
Phone: (519) 991-1094
Company Name: WinCity Shipping
The Company and name on the cancelled UPS tracking slips is Mike Brown (Hamilton Ontario), from XXL Transport.
The name of the 'shipper' told us his name was 'Dave'.
If any of the above are familiar names please respond to this post. These may be innocent people and businesses; however, finding people to talk to from this starting point may prove helpful. Thank you.

Report It to USPS and Uship, others may know more from Canada laws/rules.

Thank you. We have reported to UShip, and there is nothing they can do, unfortunately. We have been directed to make a local report to the police for stolen items /Fraud. We have done this, and it seems to go nowhere. I'm hopeful of finding some leads anywhere I can.

you’d think uship would go after their qualified carrier.

Here is a LinkedIn page for the "CEO" of windcity transport Inc out of Ontario... nothing shows up on Fmcsa safer check for a dot or mcnumber. So my guess is its not a real company.
As for xxl transport. The only company that shows up is a 1 driver located out of Tennessee. -
Thank you so much D. We did find those links as well, and are investigating those avenues. Reaching dead ends once we get email addresses or phone numbers, however. They all are disconnected, go to voicemail, or don't reply.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
What do you mean Uship can't do anything. Isn't that the whole purpose of using them so if something like this happens, they handle it? Something isn't adding up here.

dunchues Thanks this.

This was our last response from UShip. They have stated there is no guarantee with their service. We thought the same as you - The service would have some sort of guarantee or vetting of shippers for tracking purposes. Honestly, we trusted too precious of cargo to send via this method.
