This is off topic, but just a heads up to you or whoever, if you do a split and let's say you do a 3 hour break off duty and you select the "pair SB" option or whatever your ELD says, your longer portion must be in SB, regardless of length. Even if you do 10 hours off duty, it'll still put you in violation unless it's in SB for the longer portion. No DOT officer will pick up on that since the inspection view doesn't show days in violation, but it'll still pop up as in violation on your end on the ELD. I think that parts silly, but just a heads up. -
If the fellas at JJ Keller say time in a sleeper berth is logged as SB, then that's what I'll do. All their information is sourced straight from FMCSA, so idk what else to say.

99 percent of the cops don’t know the law they are enforcing that’s being serious. This a DOT said…… holds 0 weight cause no 2 really ever say the same. I’m just putting that out there. I will surrender to the idea or thought thar if they want to find something during an inspection and they can find nothing they may stoop to splitting this hair.
I really just wanted to give this dead horse a lil CPR so you boys could beat it some more.kemosabi49, Oxbow, Long FLD and 4 others Thank this. -

Mediocrity is your forte, so shoot for at least 5th grade reading material by ChristmasHammer166 Thanks this. -
Also, I dont have some weird fetish for split sleeper breaks lol, or think it's special if someone uses one. Its just one of the primary reasons I'm surprised. I mean, there's almost zero incentive to log off duty by default in a sleeper truck and there's an advantage to logging SB. There's multiple opportunities a week to be more efficient using split sleeper and people are still hellbent on only off duty.
And if someone says "well, I can just log SB when I need one", then why not just log SB every time you're in your sleeper lol?
The amount of Google reviews I see for warehouses talking about how they were there for 4 hours and ran out of hours because of it is unbelievable. Or the amount of times I've heard "dispatch sent me this impossible load. How do they expect me to pick it up at 5pm, run 500 miles, and still deliver at 9am?"
Even the government listened to the truckers enough to at least add a provision to make it possible and still got people hellbent on doing obscure things just cause they "can".
This is just a useless rant like most of my postings on this thread, so please disregard. Just my final addition to my response to being told I need to work on reading comprehension because I think sleeper berth should be logged on the sleeper berth line lol. I mean, it's in the nameOldMainiac, Oxbow and The_vett Thank this.
