I was nailed for that, $430. It wasn't I didn't have them, I didn't put the right date according to the cop on the log. My printing is horrible and he would not accept my computer generated logs, had to write it out because he was a prick.
Oh and I got it dropped by my lawyer.
I stress to my drivers KEEP YOUR LOGS UP TO DATE or risk not working here.
Maybe the op should seriously remind the driver there is NO excuse for this.roshea, Intothesunset and mp4694330 Thank this. -

I got one in Indiana years back. It was $154 for a 14 hr violation. Your driver is going to have to pay that, but there are some states that will write a separate citation to the company as well. Your driver fouled up majorly. Your company safety score will take a good punch with this one. In this day and age, with so little room for error, I'd probably fire his ###.

Logs go to company and are held 6 months. FFE indicated to me that our logs are probably rotting quietly in a older non revenue use trailer in the far back corner. If it has not already been incinerated with all others. Some companies I turned in logs that were legal provided there is time to make them so. But that does not illustrate the true state of dispatch and self decision to run illegally back then.
I was OOS in NY State on the Binghampton Interstate running for Fingerlakes to load Azko salt from Albany sysco after which I spent all night driving there and all previous day in Baltimore hand loading butter. The logs were fantasy that afternoon when NY stood over them. They formally put OOS sticker and everything. 220 dollar fine. I paid it and kept rolling. It was nothing to me in those days. A chance to sleep and enough money to eliminate a inconvience. More for the boss than me.
He did REVEAL that evening that he tried to set it up that I would be at Akzo by lunch that day instead of letting me know they load on arrival up to 8 PM each day.
How nice. Handcuff me with information I could have used well.Cabinover101 Thanks this. -
