We have been using inspection books printed by Keller, and our logs have not had the inspection on the back for at least 7 years. When you pick up the books or loose leaf forms, you need to pick the ones that have the inspection part included if you want to use those.
-
Most truckstops have vehicle inspection report forms, either in loose leaf or a book similar to a log book.

Wont DOT write you up for not having inspection report?Im new just got my cdl
-
Yes they will. But it does not have to be attached to your log. just keep a separate book in your truck with your logs. Some logs don't have inspections because some companies have trucks that drivers share, so instead of the VI on the logsheet, they just have a book that is left inside the truck so the next driver to use it can fill it out and have the previous 7 days inspections..

Inspection page is the most important page in logbook ... You have to fill the info on this page upon inspecting your vechicle.. It tells that you have inspected your vechicle and ensures it is safe to drive on road... If you dont have this page or dont fill it then it clearly indicates that you have not inspected your vechicle i.e. PTI .. Not only DOT but any sheriff on street can give you a big ticket and put you on out of service and might charge you for careless driving ... Good luck

But you do NOT have to have it attached to your log book.
-
Thats right ... As long as you have done it right .... They will inspect you on based of your inspection report..
-
WOW many years I never touched it and never was hit on it during a DOT. Only till I worked for USA I did it. Guess I was lucky

One exemption..... If you are a one truck operation with your own authority. You do not have to do a daily DVIR.
Terrain and cetanediesel Thank this.
