Hello all!
Iv iv got a 40' goosneck flat bed with extra wide ramps and I'm curious as to how you guys load other trailers (campers, boats, ect.) onto your flatbed. Assuming their is no fork lift to load it.
Thanks for any help!

Drop trailer hook truck to camper/boat etc and back it on...? Bet the nose of the trailer picks up pretty high...
-
That's kinda what I was thinking but figured I'd see if anybody has an easier method. Appreciate the quick reply!

Or drop trailer and runs long piece of chain from truck to camper/boat. Probably want to havesomethjngto keep the neck from catching on the way up..get a winch on the trailer..

Im a little confused by that one. If I'm using a winch to load, what are the chains for?

I was kind of thinking to use a winch to drag the trailers on backwards but was concerned with how much the jack leg could handle. Maybe use a long piece of channel steel as a track for the jack leg to make it smooth and keep trailer strait?. I'll have to do some experimenting this weekend!

Chains are if you don't have a winch: use chain to truck over trailer
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Ahh. That makes sense

If the boat or camper is small enough you can hire a flatbed wrecker service to come out and they will load it onto their wrecker and you can back up to each other then roll it off or winch it onto your trailer. We do this alot with stepdecks to load vehicals, it only takes about 10 mins for them and they charge $60-$80 to do it. In the past, farm equipment dealers have let us use their outdoor loading dock to load and offload as well
