You won't need much of a social life if you live in a truck ...

I lived in my truck, off and on ..never had a fridge or TV or microwave. I did have a crockpot thingy to heat up soup though. I did briefly have a small TV way back and always had problems getting channels unless I was near a large city. But my problem is I want OUT of the truck after driving it all day and knowing I'm going to sleep in it ALL night. I mean, come on, 18 hrs is enough, I need to be away from it for a little while at least.

You ou can always tell the guys who live in their trucks. They're the guys who hang around the fuel desk in the morning trying to get the undivided attention of the little old lady behind the register. So lonely... -
My dog has about 1/4 space downstairs and the rest of downstairs is for my gear. For a long time I had 3 large boxes filled with various things like clothes, canned foods and tools. Pain in the tail that way. Put the clothes in all nice and neat, first time for shower go digging for a sock and boom the clothes are all a mess. Got rid of the boxes and got that $20 buck 3 drawer plastic dresser thing for the clothes, going back soon to get another one for the foodstuffs, keep the crock pot and coffee pot in the drawer is the plan to keep it tidy and dog hair free. Recently put in a weight bench downstairs all I have to do is raise the top bunk and can do bench presses and flys with dumbells to stay in shape. 7000 btu air conditioner sits in the passenger seat and 2000 watt honda generator to power it and any other juice needs.

I am technically homeless except for the truck.
I have:
1. Laptop
2. Power strip for fridge, microwave, chargers, etc.
3. clothes,
4. food/water (gallon jugs, also useful in high wind when tarping)
5. Kindle
6. CDs
7. PPE (vest, glasses, hardhat, steel-toed boots)
8. Toiletry bag
They key is organization. There's actually a lot of room in a 72" sleeper. But you can't throw crap everywhere or that space will get very small, very quickly.
Everything that CAN be compacted, compact, RIGHT AWAY. Don'twait or you'll have an ungovernble mess on your hands before you know it. Also don't over-buy. fridge microwave meals willkeep about a week. No point buying 20 of them. An atlas, your log-book/BOL paperwork, a couple of manilla envelopes for receipts is all you need. (More if you're an O/O) keep it all organized and neat and it will stay compfortable. Fail to do so, and you're going to be living in a sty. -
The longer I do this, I find I need less and less. This is the least amount of stuff I have owned in my life and I find it very freeing.

I have to be honest. I am a cheap SOB! I think so anyway. I lived on 60 a week exactly. When I left the house for three weeks I took 5 gallons of water and chef boyardee, fruit cup, teabags, splenda. I would use my teabags and free hotwater from truckstops. I put the Ravioli cans on the dash with defrost on hi heat. When all that ran out I would buy minimal stuff from walmart to get me home. I wasnt doing it for fun and dining out. I wanted money.
