They're always looking for help. What do you want to know? Its a Union Shop. Their Driver boss is a guy named Roger, My Barn in Portland was also under him, when I was with Linde. Its a good company. Its also one of the strictest places that you'll ever see regarding rules. When youre trained, you will be given a driver book that gives a metric ton of information and if you follow everything in it, to the letter, you will never have a problem. We all referred to it as the 'Linde Bible'. Alot of guys cant handle that, or they cant handle the driver cams, or they cant handle driving the linde way, or they cant handle the scheduling. Linde operates 24/7 and when you start out, your shift may not be the most desirable. But stick with it and you'll have a great career. Dont know what they pay, only that it was more than us in Portland(Which wasnt hard) Just about every Linde Barn has a different payscale. The hiring process is extremely thorough. They WILL go back through every single employee for the past 10 years and will investigate any time lapses between jobs. It can take several weeks. I think from start of application to final job offer was 4 or 5 weeks. But it may go quicker. I have had alot of jobs, with several going back to previous companies.

Thanks for the info. I always wanted to try gases but it makes you wonder why they are always hiring for a 118k a yr job. I know the labor market is tight but come on. Knowing my luck I would get a midnight to 10am shift. I will look elsewhere.

I would recommend you apply, there are a few open positions that aren't night shift. Job isn't bad at all. It would at least help you get your foot in the door with the gas sector.

The number one issue is how hardcore Linde(and almost every other Cryo company) is about safety. They WILL make you adhere to their rules. It is a PITA until suddenly its not. The following distance, the over speed, the lane departures, laying chocks all the time. Doing everything the Linde way, always having eyes on you, alot of guys cannot handle that. There isnt alot of freedom in cryo. You have to be on your A game at all times and, frankly, there are alot of other jobs that pay more for less aggravation. I loved, and still love doing cryo. I didn't like my Barn, but I would not hesitate to come back if things changed either there or if I had the opportunity to work somewhere else that I would like to live and I could affford to move. You can have a stellar career there.

But the 118k.....take with a huge grain of salt. They are still advertising for 100k for Portland and those guys are hardly working 40 hours a week. Theyre giving most of the work to call and demand drivers or were that last time I talked to the guys there.

I would talk with them and talk to Roger. Yes, you make have a less than desirable schedule(I honestly dont know) when you start, but it is a Union shop and you will build seniority and you can take pride that youre making more money than the guys in Portland and they know that and it bothers them endlessly lol.
