Hi guys
Kw w900l 2006
It was riding and leveling no problem. Went for its safety and was told the levelling valve had an air leak and it was replaced.
Now have the following issues....
1 - Collected the truck and it looked alot higher than usual over the drives
2 - the weight gauge in the truck is now out quite a ways from where it was before eg empty was on 20 now about 25 psi....loaded where it would usually be about 70 it's now 80+ on the gauge
3 - loaded up and ride height seemed to be better. Unloaded and the ride height didn't automatically adjust like it should nor did the weight gauge change in the cab. I had to dump all the air out of the truck for it to go down and air it back up
The mechanic who did it is scratching his head saying I dont know ffs
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Well, you know that the leveling valve was changed and that's when the problem started. So there's a 99.99% chance that's where the problem is. There are two possibilities. 1 - It was riding low and the mechanic set it to the correct spec, so now it's higher, but where it belongs. 2 - It was at the correct height and the mechanic set it too high.
Now you need to get the correct ride height measurement and check where it is to know which one. -

Yep guessed it was due to the new valve but why even if he's set the new ride height too high / or correct does it then "go down to correct height" when I dump the air and air back up?
-
Does anyone know why a newly installed levelling valve will not lower a truck back down to correct height once the load has been removed.....I have to dump all the air and air the truck back up ?
The trucks ride height seems higher than it was anyway so will be getting that checked out to see if it's corrext.
Thanks -
Could also have gotten a defective valve right out of the box.

The leveling valve is real simple. It's basically just a valve with a adjustable arm that goes down to the axle. The adjustable arm controls your ride height. Your ride height should remain constant, loaded or unloaded. If the valve is not defective, it should always return to the same height, if you dump the air and air it back up.
EWV Thanks this. -
In other words, check that the arm is set correctly. Some trucks have known issues with the leveling valve arm.

I had one done once, if would not release any air, only add air, so after a while the suspension got a lot higher.
I found that they put two of the lines in backwards, reversed the lines and it worked good after that.EWV Thanks this.
