Driver facing cameras.
Strict rules.
Less pay shown on paycheck than what was shown on their website and from hire.
How do I find a good company?
I don't want to be watched so much with camera inside. Anywhere else on truck is ok. They say $1400 to $1800 per week but that's hard to do.
Paycheck seems to be more like .32 cents / mile than the .52 they said.
That's what miles say on the paychecks.
Per diem and loaded miles not so good.
Is it possible a company can pay more for empty miles than the loaded miles?
It seems that way on the paycheck that loaded miles pay less, per diem adds up to part of it, but the empty miles pay more.
What about rider policy?
I'm looking for a company I can bring gf with me, not married yet.
I have 4 months experience on my license CDL A flatbed spread axle
less pay that what company said. what do I look for when changing companies?

I think Swift no longer uses driver facing cameras. Can make decent pay in refrigerated division.

Jumping at 4 months is risky business.
Let’s say you get someone else to hire you now. That’s it. Any issues that cause you to lose that job makes you almost unhireable. If that job is also not all you want, you’re stuck. Because two 4 month stints on your new CDL and you’ll need a second chance company and a lot of luck.
Is it worth the gamble?Stringb8n, bryan21384, tscottme and 3 others Thank this. -
I know this doesn’t really help, but tough it out until 6 months exp or preferably a year and then find a carrier to stick it out for a while with.
It’s hit or miss at every company. Dispatchers, luck, weather, home obligations, etc. can make or break you. I’ve had great months at bottom feeder company and terrible months at higher tier carriers. I went through a job hopping stint and eventually realized it’s all the same s*** in a different pile.
During my job hopping stint, I probably lost more money during the switching phase and getting accustomed than I earned back with the higher pay. Just make a list of pros and cons, pick which cons you absolutely won’t put up with, and go from there. The grass will always be greener, but the longer vacation, better runs, and better equipment that comes with seniority is a nice benefit that I’ve missed out on everywhere.insipidtoast, Lonesome, bryan21384 and 2 others Thank this. -
