My husband has been offered a job with another company, but he needs to get his hazmat endorsement (he's a new driver--he just hit his 90 day mark). He's driving now :) so he asked me to look up info on getting his hazmat endorsement. From what I've found, you have to apply for it online, get fingerprinted, wait for your clearance, then go to the Georgia DDS to take the test. Is this correct? If so, how long does all this take, on average? The company wants him to start at the end of this month, but it's already October 2. Is it possible to get it done that quickly? Currently he's on his way to Connecticut and won't be home to Georgia for another two weeks or so. Can he go get fingerprinted in another state, wait for clearance, then take the test when he gets home, or does he have to be fingerprinted in the state where he is licensed? Any and all advice is welcome!

go to the website and get that started. you can pay online if you want to. i am referring to of course the finger printing phase of this.

it can take one week, or 10 weeks to get the results........its all in the timing of things.

till then, no hazmat tests till the letter comes in the mail.

he CAN however, study, study, study the hazmat endorsement tests.

Mine took about a week. Ewells1014 it might take your hubby 3 to 4 weeks to get his new CDL after he does the fingerprint thing. Don't forget TSA has $89.75 fee to process the fingerprints, plus whatever Ga. charges for getting the endorsment put on his CDL. c
