Have been carrying the same pocket knife (3.5" blade) for years. Was told that carrying a blade longer than 3" long, in my truck, is a felony. Looked for a federal (fmcsa) link and found nothing. Any reputable links available that I might have overlooked?

Many states have a length limit of 3" for concealed knives such as pocket knives. That is why the 110 Buck comes with a belt sheath.

As I learned when going to Canada, you should keep your knife on your person. Don't volunteer info. Looks like after 3.5" you become a menace to society... oh brother. The worst thing they'll do is confiscate it.

Almost any knife is legal when carried openly in a sheath of some type.

Arkansas has no limit. But you do have a duty to keep it holstered and do not show intent to use it which opens you up to charges, if you are not already shot up by any number of gun carriers first.

It's not crap. We had Jim Crow laws on our books since reconstruction in 1870 when we were a occupied people under military rule with no elections or any civil liberties for a number of years. These laws against weapons stayed on the books until fairly recently. Guns in the last 10 years first followed by a loosening of knife restrictions around 2011.

We are a free State compared to some of the other states back east. Im thankful for that. However, we are still working on removing more restrictions and laws. It is the first time that a segment of the population was able to control both houses in the legislature with a majority sufficient to dictate what will happen and a governor who will sign it.

There are places in Arkansas that are a pretty high threat level and if you did not carry a gun or blade to defend yourself, then you have no sense. It is far better to move out and live in the rural areas where good people live and nothing much happens other than the occasional drug arrest, domestic or shooting. For that, you have to get away from Little Rock and Pine Bluff etc.

But the laws between 1870 to roughly 2001 were pretty restrictive. We take joy in repealing many of those now and live free. I can do things here where if I did that back in say Maryland, I would be arrested by now. Maryland is not a free state.

Chefs (ex-chefs) have the best blades. :p

On a serious note - pisser it's over 3" (haven't looked at Maine law re: concealed blades - will tho)... too bad I'm keeping it around. For utilitarian purposes, mind you.
