Gonna replace the seats in my ‘93 W900L and when I find a brand/model I like I’ll do my Pete and other W9. I’m 5’11”, 210lbs, the other guy who drives for me is smaller. Not sure if that factors in much but I think they make a wide seat as well. I want the low ride but not sure about the low or high back and Legacy or Bostrom?
Legacy or Bostrom low ride seat?

I’ve had a legacy seat in 3 trucks and it was terrible all 3 times. All 3 have the same two issues.
1. The seat isn’t squared up. It leans a little to the right but the back is straight so you sit leaning right but have to lean left. To compensate I sit farther to the left but then when I lean back it won’t line up.
2. This is the biggest issue, the seat design. It’s essentially 2 bars that go front to back, one on the left one on the right. Basically exactly under your thighs. The problem is the only thing over these bars is a cushion. Eventually in an hour or two I can feel the bar through the cushion and it murders the back of my thigh and lower butt. No surprise here, it’s only on the right side, because you lean that way there is more pressure.
I ordered a bostrom last week but won’t get it for over 2 months. I never sat in one so can’t say if it’s good or not.lilillill and mile marker 27 Thank this. -
I have legacy’s in both of my trucks now.
I can’t say they are great- but they’re so much better than bostroms it isn’t even a comparison.
Ive had and replaced bostroms/ (Wide ride) seat cushion wears out (You can feel the support cross rods) in a couple months on the high side; armrests are to short; armrest adjustments are poorly designed and not useful- also, both the ones I bought new either were broken out of the box or broke quickly thereafter. Would not stay upright, armrests falling off the sides of the chair.
Legacy- i get the lo version. Rides better with the riser under it and (5’9”) has the knee at the correct angle. Longer armrests, easy to adjust armrest height (though placement of the adjustment means that when you have them up riding around shoulder rubs the adjustment way out from where it was), cushion is much thicker, but the seat cover material rips on the creases pretty quickly without sharp pressure.wore out, mile marker 27, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ruthless said it well....This ^^^^^^^^

Also, if you have a modular cab and have not put a unibilt ring in it: I would suggest the mid back regardless of brand. You can lean it back quite a bit further before it is against the wall behind you. Makes a difference in comfortability for sure.mile marker 27 Thanks this. -
Coffey Thanks this.

I mean, maybe it’s different now? I bought several matching ones about 7/8 years ago. Went to pull out the ones I was replacing and realized they were actually pretty new...
Maybe they’ll be better for you now then they were for me then?
I see people post up about them real high dollar seats- I havent been convinced enough to buy even one of them; just bc if i spend $2500-7k on a seat that still isnt good...... otoh I’ve spent a lot more on things that turned out to not be worth anything, so..
Don’t sweat the small stuff lolHammer166 and mile marker 27 Thank this. -

A buddy of mine, who works at Pete, gave me a good discount on a Bostrom Pro Ride, low base, mid back seat. They didn’t deal in Legacy so that’s the route I went. I got an adapter base from them as well but quickly saw, that I was gonna drill as many holes with or without this particular base. Scratch the base. Installing it wasn’t bad but would’ve been easier had I not had to relocate my PTO control tower and horn valve. Feels great on the arse and lower back,....so far. Got it slid back to back of cab and the only dislike so far is using the clutch pedal, with the seat low. Any ideas?
