Have a 2000 utility flatbed recently changed the light on the rear of the trailer to grote Led lights that act as stop, turn, and running lights.

All light come on and work but the 4 lights that act as running and brake lights in the middle are constantly on as running light even when I have no lights on in the trucks. Pic with yellow turn signals are old lights. Didn’t have to change anything they were plug in play noticed the issue when I pre tripped this morning.

is there a relay I need to change or what usually causes this? B80883F6-2F13-4C25-AB17-D4A55F5023A6.jpeg A64FD3EF-D316-408B-9568-BE6373EEC64F.jpeg

LED lights require very little amperage in order to work. Electrical feed from grease across a 7 way plug or moisture where insulation is poor can migrate enough power to light an LED. Break the system down connector to connector, junction box etc.

So I messed with it when I stopped today. And the 4 lights on would come on every time I turned the ignition on and would go off every time I shut the ignition off. So I put one of the old non led lights back in and now it works normal. The lights now come on when I turn them on as opposed to when I turn the ignition on.

Check the plugs going into the back of the grote lights. It may need an adapter. (Some do). The red wire is the bright side and black is normal (dimmer) marker and on non turn/stop positions sometimes the factory plug ignites the red wire instead of black making it burn the bright stop and not normal marker light.
