i have a led beacon bar on my truck and every time it is on I can hear the motion or setting on the beacon on my CB speaker... I have the ground separate from the battery and I have the power to a switch... the beacon light has a control panel that I can change the settings on the bar and it is near my floor... sometimes when people key up the beacon will turn on by itself ... any idea what this could be and how to fix it... I have a kenworth t600,,,.

    Thanks

I hate to break the news to you, nothing will stop it.

See the light bar most likely doesn't conform to the fcc regs on noise so it really is a problem for you and a lot of others. We have the same problem and I went through one truck for almost a day trying different things, nothing short of wrapping the light bar in tin foil worked.

Yeah it is, the same goes for led replacement lights for homes, there are a few which do not emit rf all over the spectrum. Where I used to live, the neighbor has a greenhouse and when his led lights were on, I could not use any radio equipment, especially broadcast am radio.

Is that why you get so much static in a truck stop at night when the parking lot lights come on?

Most likely, there are a lot of hps and other lighting systems that use 'inverters' and they are really noisy. Grow lights, that use hps bulbs are a huge problem but most people don't have radios any more so they are unaware of the issue.

    wolverine11 Thanks this.

Sure enough Im at the Loves in Mcpherson KS ( I 135 ) and all the parking lot lights just came on and needle on my 29 just jumped up to 5 with annoying static and before the lights came on there was no static at all.

    I should have asked this

    Who made the light bar?
