How many of you Hauling Multi Axle RGN's Have an LCV Certification or know what it is???
Not being smart about it, just wondering how many know that there is a FMSCA rule that says you have to have doubles and triples to haul jeeps and stingers, and you also have to have A LCV cert card.. I got mine in 99 and until recently NEVER been asked for it..

I also want to help prevent anyone pulling RGN loads with Jeeps and Stingers to not contribute to the states that have been recently enforcing this..
I recently took a 13 axle load from Buffalo NY to Virginia.. It Started in NY the NY State trooper Asked for my DL, LCV and Med card.. Before he would do his part of the police escort.. I had all with me, unfortunately the second load coming out behind me the driver did not have LCV training nor Doubles and triples, since he had not left the plant yet the trooper informed him he would not be Leaving Loaded until he go the certs..

    In Pa no Issues

MD, WV and Virginia ALL checked for and I could not understand WHY all of the sudden they are checking for this until I got this explanation from the Virginia state Police..

Not having the Doubles and triples endorsement, 265.00 fine. NOT having an LCV certification Card 10,000.00 to the driver... same to the company and the load is shut down no questions asked.. 7 points on CSA with a 3 times multiplier.. and Here is the real kick in the NUTS. The PERMIT is revoked due to unqualified driver and a new one will have to be obtained as well as any scheduling of Police escorts..

The LCV certification is simple to get and you only have to get it once.. it NEVER expires. FED Ex, UPS and those folks have them, I took a class with a well known wiggle wagon company paid 125 for the card..

    Good Luck and be careful

    Passingthru,
I just got off the phone with one of our drivers he is in Wyoming and WHAM he is shutdown until Monday when our safety guy can fax his over. AMAZING how many states have jumped on this money train...
As for the card uh you can get them online, just google search LCV Certification Card.. There is no system for keeping up with who is a qualified trainer, it is a simple form small enough to put in your wallet..

More amazing how many trucking companies are breaking the law by not following the rules. Fines in heavy haul can be big, better know all the rules if you want to play with the big boys.

Old Man I agree with you and it is even more amazing how many companies have safety directors, who have NO clue that these laws exist yet they have the title.. makes you wonder How in the world they got the job..

Someone made mention of this in another thread so I did some research and found this thread.

I've pulled loads with jeeps all over the state of TN without double/triple endorsement or a LCV certification. Never had a problem. I didn't even know there was such a thing as LVC certification until I read this thread.

You must have doubles and triples - Colorado verified mine just this week. Almost every state that asks for my license will check for it. The LCV, I have never had and don't know where to get it and never been asked about it.

It has. Ever appeared as a state condition on a permit or been asked for by any dot officer I have encountered

Now that I think about it, I've never been asked to show my license while pulling the jeep and I've never pulled it out of TN. I've showed my permit at the scales plenty of times but they've never asked to see my license. I don't pull it much but I guess I should go get my endorsement sometime.
