GREETINGS ALL,
Just curious if Anyone Here at Truckers Report had or is working/driving for Thread Title??
Just for info:
I drove at a Eastern Greensboro, NC site, I-40/85, X 226, South to McConnell Center Road, Right to end (Wayfair D.C.).
Interview appeared productive and the "manager" offered very fake information regarding type of Equipment Quality as well Shifts.
I applied for 2nd but he needed help on 1st starting at 0600. I think the shifts were either 10 or 12 hours.
I lasted 2.5 days.
Regional "Supervisor" was wanting I to receive a Lazer Spot T-Shirt and Hat on my 3rd Day.
I quit when I asked about getting Equipment up to Minimum Code and was told "It might happen sometime soon but I know not when".
"I'm Not Waiting On A Sometime as you've Done Nothing so far and I Quit".
That Location, Then, Had a Wonderful New 10 Wheel Autoshift Day Cab Shuttle Truck, but they couldn't replace Switcher Trucks.
REVIEWS (Lazer Spot at DuckDuckGo) of Lazer Spot heartily corroborate the highly negative atmosphere at seemingly ANY location including Alpharetta, GA., therein substantiating a consistent "Turnover of People".
The "equipment" I was given to "drive" was something as stated in numerous Reviews as "being impossible to Pass a D.O.T. Inspection", even if the Inspecting Officer was hampered by Alcohol during a Lightning and Hail storm.
Broken Lights, Brakes that were so far out of adjustment as to be non operational then air compressor kicks on, Airlines missing Hose Clamps (see Brakes), Smashed Dash Panel, Unknown by Anyone of most recent Engine Service, Loose Steering Parts as well sloppy 5th wheel, Horn/s Might Work (forget the Air Horn), Sliding Door just slides, Wipers just smeared the water, AM/FM Radio ON/OFF for no reason, defroster never had a chance so when raining, park and exit as it was drier out of vehicle.
It was another "Learning Experience".
Your Experience may well have been or may be completely different.
CHEERS!!

I worked for them for about a year. Was a lead driver on the night shift at International Paper. Where to start... lol.
Honestly, I probably have more complaints about the paper mill and their stupid rules than I do for lazer.
Management was a joke. We had 4 site managers, plus the regional manager. They were all a bunch of dinks, pretty much useless. But being on the night shift that didn’t bother me too much as I had minimal contact with them.
Equipment was terrible. They pretty much didn’t fix anything unless it physically prevented the truck from moving. But if you didn’t do a full pretrip and report every single loose screw, they would not hesitate to write you up or blame you for the problem. But I do partly blame the drivers for the poor equipment. Drivers were always tearing #### up and could never even be bothered to keep their trucks clean. If they did get nice new equipment the drivers would just tear it up. So I kinda get the lack of maintenance to a point.
Pay and benefits were pretty decent. The mill was a 24 hour operation so we worked rotating 12 hour shifts. We got overtime after 50 hours, and if you worked any extra shifts you got an additional $2.50 per hour, plus we got a $2 premium for working nights. And you got 8 hrs pay for holidays (in addition to your regular pay if you worked the holiday). You can definitely make some money if you are willing to work.
It’s a good enough job if you want to be home daily and have a regular schedule with no headaches but you still want to drive. I don’t regret working there, but I definitely like what I am doing now much better.bzinger, Lonesome and Val_Caldera Thank this. -
I've never worked for Lazer spot but for the last 4 years I've delivered consistently to 2 locations served by Lazer spot .
One is a cold storage in penn and the other is a med supply company in Indianapolis .
The place in penn has excellent looking equipment and very little turnover...and the drivers are helpful.
The place in indy has total junk for equipment and I don't often see the same driver more than a few times .Val_Caldera and Kyle G. Thank this. -
The local IP warehouse uses them, but only on 2nd or 3rd shift……maybe both. During the day they get us to move trailers while we are trying to pick up our loads. I hope we charge them for it.
They have a Mack and Volvo daycab here. I don’t think they go out on road. They need an actual switcher truck. Docks are tight and yard isn’t any better. I’d hate to be a spotter with a regular truck. F that.Val_Caldera and Kyle G. Thank this.
